Wallabies v Boks

Predictions? I'm pretty sure I know what Te Kaha will say but as far as I'm concerened, I give the Wallabies a good chance of getting the chocolates here. The Boks will need a game to gel after not playing together for so long, and the Wallabies are desperate to get some respect back. De Villiers/Fourie centre pairing will do a great job, but O'Connor/Ioane/Beale should have the edge out wide. Back rows are pretty even with Boks have the edge in the tight 5. Can't wait!

I hope you're right Butters. Butch James will be making a bee line for Cooper which is good because that means he'll break their defensive line by running to fullback...

WTF??? have you seen that Bok side??

The Boks by at least 20...

The Boks tight 5 has the edge on ours. They won't shut Genia and Cooper down like the AB's did, though the Du Preez/Genia battle will be even. Cooper will out perform Butch. Elsom will react to the critics and go bananas. Russouw has been good but Elsom to win that battle. Spies hasn't done much all year. Higginbotham to win that battle. Brussouw has hardly played. Pocock to win that battle. Boks centres to win their battle. Wallabies outside backs to win theirs. Wallabies are in this up to their elbows!:D

Hard to pick. The Boks side is wounded. There's a lot of angst about the 2 losses in Australia and NZ so they are out for blood. I reckon it will be a close one...probably sealed with a late kick.

One of ours, I hope.

i managed to watch this one live from start to finish... was not sleeping very good so a 3AM game of footy was a godsend...

Really, Really, Really well done by the Wallabies.

I didnt think they had a chance coming into this game. But IMO they were miles better than the Bok's.

It was by far the best performance ive seen from you guys since the win against the French last year.

They showed some real steel out there... they won the breakdown easily... they were just physically superior at the breakdown and pretty much all the collision areas.

The scrum... they did outstanding... gave there own team good possession and even caused headaches on Boks ball.

They may have only won by 5pts... but IMO the Wallabies were a good 15-20pts better than the Boks.

In 2007, Francois Steyn looked like a very promising rugby player. Fast forward to 2011, he looks like he has eaten way too many bagels in France.
I can't believe how little impach he had. The time away from Super 15 has certaintly hurt him.

They played silly rugby for 40 minutes. Tried to push the miracle pass everytime instead of holding onto it. Butchered several chances and probably could have easily won by 20/ Still, I'm happy with the 5 point win. Any win in Africa is a good win. I nearly choked when the Wallabies destroyed the Bok scrum. I haven't seen that too many times. Smit is a passenger and probably needs to go. As Engine says, Francois Steyn looks fat and unfit.

Elsom had a blinder. If he's playing himself into some form then I'll eat my words. Stephen Moore was my MOTM. A gutsy display. It will be interesting to see what the citing commissioner thinks of the 2 dangerous tackles from Elsom and McCabe. Also, A. Faingaa should start. He's a beast in defence.

yeah... i cant really disagree with too much of what your saying... John Smith was terrible... when Bismark Du Plesis came on he made a big difference.

seeing Frans Steyn was surreal.... how bad has he fallen.

im wondering how we will go next week without Carter, McCaw, Smith, Read, Thorn & Franks.

on this mornings performance you would think we were a chance...

Yep is was a dominant Wallabies performance all over the park. They turned up mentally...I too almost choked when i saw the Bok scrum disintegrate! Elson definitely getting into form. Agree that A. Faingaa should start. Encouraging signs and can't wait for Brisbane match (which I'll be at). Still worried about no genuine number 8...doesn't look like Palu will make it.
