Make sure you're landing on your heel, or try changing having a barbell across your shoulders instead of using dumb bells or vice versa.

He's got terrible technique tbh, you'll have to post a video for me so next time I'll have a decent example to post.

Can you do muscle ups by the way?

have only seen ppl in youtube do these and I dont mind admitting that they are too advanced for me,mastering the false grip I heard is the key

I f**ken hate lunges, deadset they are horrible, I lose my balance all the time and am getting contrasting advice, back leg should be almost straight yet front knee cant go past foot.

Argh, thinking of ditching it and just doing machine extensions to hit my quads

Help!

I just 'walk' along taking my knee to just off the ground each time...never seemed particularly complicated

is there anything you can do to simulate weights and build muscle with no equipment

Pull-ups/chin-ups are excellent if you can find a railing or something to pull yourself up to. No substitute for squats and deadlifts though!

Thanks for the link cliffy, dont know why I read to lunge far enough so back leg is almost straight!

Looking at that video it doesnt suggest lunges hit the front of the thighs at all, more the shins and glutes.

Im trying to finalise my legs routine, at the moment doing squats, curls, calf raises and lunges. Wondering if I should swap lunges for machine extensions?

Dunno if I should incorporate leg press also

Not much point if there's nothing preventing you from squatting heavy IMO. Just get under the bar and go hard, ever seen an olympic weightlifter with small quads?

Leg press is a squat rack for cripples and pussies.

My leg workout day is:

Squats 4x6
Lunges 4x6
Deadlifts 4x6
Calf extensions 4x10
+ ab exercises (irrelevant)

I'm pretty f**ked by the end. I;m not gonna lie, I dog the deadlifts far too often.

Also play oztag twice a week

Squats are f**king awesome, I squat every workout, it's great seeing the weights getting bigger and bigger. If you'd told me 4 months ago that I'd be squatting 140+kg for sets of 5 I'dve told you to GTFO.

Re deadlifts- they're awesome but don't overdo them, they absolutely hammer you. Keep them to just your back workout.

Might move them to my biceps/back day. I'm usually f**ked from squats and lunges and my bicep day is a piece of piss tbh

If your main goal is strength gains 10s are prolly a bit high, I'd drop 'em to 5s and up the weight when you're comfortable with your technique.
