Hi All keep your chins up. I will throw in my take on a couple of ideas for what it is worth. Firstly, I don’t have a set against any particular player. Even to make one game in the NRL is a top achievement. That acknowledged, here are a few ideas: next year:

1. Flanno turned Matt Prior from a struggling prop/ backrower/ occasional centre/ to a powerhouse front rower for the sharks 2016 premiership. I was told he bulked nearly extra 10 kg on Matt from Dragons weight. I believe Zac Lomax is too slow for a strike centre, always have. However, I never questioned his fitness or attitude. He not afraid to take a tough carry or tackle head on. He is on the books at big coin ( reports up to $700k a year). Bulk him up from 94 kg to to over 100kg plus as a lock or back rower. I reckon with his height he may be a Yeo type lock.
2. A cheap but good standard backrower. possibly Nathan Brown with a fresh start to support the top class Jayden Sua.
3. We need another fast strike centre with Suli. Not sure if any junior or market availability?
4. one extra player that Flanno can recruit or has identified. Also hope Cody Ramsey can regain health and weight. He is a genuine good class fast back.

That’s all for 2024 I think is realistically possible.

Next week don’t dismiss Tau Tau Moga or Finau for Feagai wing spot.

Well with the talk of the Chad, Townsend that is, coming our way after Hunt is released, I am also hoping we pick up at least one edge forward prior to the August cut off for signing new players for 2023.
Toby Couchman I feel may get another look in towards the back end of the season, but short term I would take a Nathan Brown for the remainder of this year and 2024.
We need an extra experienced forward right now.
I think a few of the younger guys are being brought along slowly because of how long the season is.

You know yesterday I walked away from the Gong early thinking I really don’t need this shit in my life. It was just a total embarrassment and I wasn’t the only one in the Northern stand who was thinking what a waste of money this was. And I can tell you there were many other Dragons fans with far worse thoughts. Flanagan sure has his work cut out with this debacle.

im thinking it’s been a downward spiral since 2010 but how bad can it get can we be at a lower ebb. Week after week I hope we may have just turned the corner a bit then yesterday happens fmd what a joke.

As fans, we will always be back brother. It's part of our DNA.
But agree, they are making it hard.
Massive decisions to be made going forward.

I used the word " irrelevant" when it came to our Club a few years back.
I stand by that today.

Until we ( the Club ), stand for something then the eras of complacency will continue. Think about the years post Bennett. The Normans and Hunts of this world dominated.

Im pissed off.

Totally agree mate. I hope Flanagan has some moves because we are in a world of hurt. I know watching things on TV is sort of restrictive but watching the whole field you could see how poor our defence really was. Getting run around the edges 4 times in the same manner was just horrible to watch and then they did it with 12 men. Really tough to watch.

It was brutal viewing, for sure, but again, no need for despair imo. I took heart from the revival of the Warriors, and some of their players. Guys like Shaun Johnson and Dallin Watene-Zelezniak were almost scrapheap-worthy 12-18 months ago, you wouldn't have looked twice at them if they came on the market. Now Johnson is cutting teams to ribbons and DWZ is strolling in for 4 tries against us. All down to coaching. We may well be saying "Let's gone Dragons"

Did anyone really expect anything different when they saw Ben Hunt take the field? The guy was never in the right head space to play and should have had the weekend off. Was if Ryan Carr who forced him to play or someone else? I would love to know.

Hunt played like you would expect him to and was still restricting Sullivan which is even worse? It is like when he is in the team they have to give him the ball. As for the defence? That last 3 minutes against Souths defence came back to bite. What is it with the Suli/Feagai side of the field? Thet get torn to shreds. Can the coach not see that? And if so why not try and fix it?

Warriors are a damn good side. This coach they have is a freak and has done wonders. They are doing what the Cowboys did last year and will make the finals I feel. Great to watch especially Shaun Johnson. I have always liked him as a player and glad to see him in form at back where he belongs at the Warriors.
