Frank Endacott - 2 seasons - 7 & 9 wins
Mark Graham - 2 seasons - 10 & 8 wins
Tony Kemp - 2 seasons - 6 & 10 wins

compare this to our aus coaches

John Monie 2 seasons - 13 & 10 wins
Dan Anderson 3 seasons - 12, 17 & 15 wins - 1 GF
Cleary 6 seasons - avg 13 wins - 1 GF

anyone notice a trend here....?

and just to add, no finals appearance under endacott, graham & kemp. Bluey is in good company.

anderson got us there 3/3
cleary 4/6
monie 0/2 - but given they were our first two years in the comp, and we ended up in the middle of the table, i would give that a pass mark.

Anderson didn't get us there 3/3. 2004 is absolutely attributed to him.

Weak thread designed to put the boot in and hopefully become part of the "in" crowd..

No mention of Blueys past successes shows the zero credibility and lack of footy nouse..

Pointless thread I agree, but Bluey's past successes really don't mean anything in terms of the NRL. I don't care what he has done with the Kiwis (which is a few sparse games here and there) and ESL ('light' rugby league). He has never coached an NRL season and regardless of whether he comes right or not, he has taken a grand final team to the pits.

This, its ludicrous to suggest that Anderson got us there 3/3 therefore he is a '100% coach'. Does the original poster even remember what happened in that first finals appearance? It was one of the worst hidings in finals history.

Our best coach so far has been Cleary in my opinion.

We were always going to get a hiding in that first finals appearance. It was the club's first in history, it was an achievement just to make it there and they viewed it as such (not necessarily by Anderson's directive). With that out the way, they made the GF the next year. Unfortunately DA then unleashed his famous halftime video...

I don't even think it's an opinion that Cleary was our best. To me it's fact

Anderson best by far IMO....

Cleary did a lot of good in the backoffice space.

Bluey has been disappointing, was hoping for more.

I don't think the original poster's ever watched a warriors game before this season.

And while i agree this is a dumb thread, it still remains that Blueless has taken a team that reached the grand final last season (luckily, but still) and was consistently good enough to reach the finals during the rest of Cleary's tenure (bar 2009, but no team would've picked themselves up after what happened with Sonny Fai :(), and turned them into a pea-hearted rabble. Even in 2009, when we were consistently bad, we still had heart.

Graeme Lowe was a great kiwi coach for Manly and I believe he did pretty well coaching the Qld SOO side.

If you want to be the aussies at their game, you need to have someone who knows how they play and think.

I believe we need 1 aussie coach and 3-4 aussie players in the team with the rest of the kiwi boys learning off them.

at the moment, the blind is leading the blind.

i would offer the coaching role to jim dymock. that guy was one hard nut to crack even as a player. he's probably also learnt a thing or two watching hasler. maybe he can bring back the mongrel in our boys.

as for steve folkes, he should just retire and go play golf with tim sheens. the dragons are a shambles right now thanks to him and pricey.i say let the new generation of coaches have a crack at the big time.

I don't think this thread is dumb at all.

It shows quite clearly that Kiwi coaches haven't done that well at the warriors. We all have to ask ourselves why?

I grew up playing RL in Oz and have coached only in NZ. I was coaching kids a few years back and I went home and watched my nephews play in Country NSW. After about 5 minutes of watching the kids play back in Oz (at under 9's) I could see a huge difference in way they played to back here. In Oz, at that age, they were already playing more as teams, rather than individuals playing in team sport. The Kiwi teams would probably flog the teams I was watching, simply because they'd be twice the size. But each kid in Oz had a completely different attitude to the game to the kids in NZ.

Do Kiwis play it different and have different mind sets from the start Does that affect the way they coach? Big difference between kids and NRL I know, but is it the system that turns out different attitudes?.......dunno, just sayin'.

I think that is a good point. The Kiwi's produce great individual players (Mark Graham, Stacey Jones, $BW) but have traditionally not been able to produce teams of the same standard.

Even the 2008 WC winning team owed a great deal to the influence of an Australian on their coaching staff by the name of Wayne Bennett...
