You just contradicted yourself. You just did that on your previous post.

Green, Seibold, Mary, Pay, Holbrook(harsh but true) could not argue with being punted right now.

I put brackets after Holbrook admitting I was being harsh. Seibold is not in that category.

Anthony Griffin could do a good job there IMO. Hope they go after him

He has been one of the names mentioned. Funny enough with all the jokes about Trent Barratt his name has been mention also. However, there's alot names been mentioned and whether they are names that have been speculated by the media or they are candidates the Warriors are considering is up for debate.

Nathan Brown, who began the year at the club as a consultant before the COVID-19 financial crisis hit every club, will be discussed by the Warriors board, as will Anthony Griffin, Trent Barrett, Neil Henry, Jason Ryles, Geoff Toovey, Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy.

the timing of this is very bizarre...

...injuries, covid 19, away from home, coming off a great win in North Qld ....and obviously could not match up with Souths hitting their stride. so why now?

I was thinking last night how warriors were finally showing some good structure in attack, particularly on their left edge. Got me thinking how maybe Kearney has finally found the balance in the team. maybe those in charge see the potential and a lost season and are willing to go for it?

Better late than never i suppose

Its been reported that his sacking will cost the club 2 million. The Warriors would have been better to ride this season out and start a slate clean for next year. In the mean time they could wait and see if Kearney could lift them out of it. This season and the circumstances was going to be difficult for any coach to pull the Warriors out with no home games and the players being away from their families for potentially the duration of the whole season. The timing makes no sense particularly when they won 2 out of their 4 games since the season restarted and burning through that kind of money to pay out the coach no wonder clubs go broke.

Good stuff Warrior's. I know there will be plenty celebrating the news. Hopefully never to be seen in a head coaching gig again.
Oi Dragons board? Paying attention!

Board: By God he's right! Sack Flanno immediately and hire Kearny as Mary's new super duper best friend assistant.
WINning...

Kearney was a terrible appointment in the first place, almost as bad as Matt Elliot.

The Warriors really need to get this next head coaching appointment right. Probably the best experienced coach without a club is Griffin and you could say he has unfinished business after the way he was sacked from the Panthers mid season while they were in the top 8. The other option would be if they could lure Flanagan over from the Dragons but I'm guessing he is already lined up to be their head coach when Mary finally gets the chop. I wouldn't touch Brown, Barret, Henry, Toovey… Outside of all them they need to find the next O'Brien or Robinson

Yes, great business sense from The Warriors. 2019 re-sign their struggling coach to a new 2 year deal, then less than 6 months later sack him. Brilliant

The number of shit coaches in the NRL is TOO DAMN HIGH!!

One less going around then. Hopefully no other club is dumb enough to sign him in the future.

Why is this entirely the coaches fault though?

End of the day, it's the cattle that's provided and the Warriors front admin have provided shit quality and depth talent and character to their coaches in recent years. It doesn't help that it is a lone NZ team and it's hard to get proven Australian players that can drive a good player culture like they did with Tate & Price. This is what is crucial. A coach can be a king with one group of players, and a numpty with another. The good comes with a bunch of good players with a great work ethic who strive to improve. Lazy players who are happy with what they have now are a coach killer.

Given the circumstances with the team living in Australia away from families, and the term remaining on Kearney's contract and the amount of pay out he'll receive, this decision is absolutely f**ked. seriously, it's up to $2m that could be spent in other areas of the club and the game. Irresponsible.

What we need is a game where more than 50% of the teams can win.

Selfishly I want Kevin walters to get the job immediately just so I don’t have to listen to his abysmal attempted commentary each week. Even though he would guarantee them the spoon

My first choice is Anthony Griffin.

Say what you want about him at the Broncos but he was a massive part of the Penrith rebuild.

Players no longer with Penrith whinged about how hard he trained and the perfection he demanded but ultimately, it set a foundation for the club and they’re not with us. Ivan Cleary is the beneficiary of Gus, Griffin and good administration.

They need a bloke who sets standards and leads without holding hands and accepting mediocrity. He’s not going to buy into the status quo.

He shouldn’t have been sacked from Penrith and he’s the pick of the litter.

That being said, Kevin Walters deserves a shot but the warriors need experience. Hard nosed, NRL experience
