International front-rower Jerry Seuseu will come straight back into the Vodafone Warriors’ starting line-up this week, having served a one match suspension for a careless high tackle against Manly in round 10.

Seuseu’s inclusion sees Iafeta Paleaaesina return to the interchange bench, joining fellow prop Mark Tookey who has retained his spot following his performance against the Rabbitohs last week.

In other changes to the side that defeated South Sydney, winger Henry Fa’afili will move from the fresh reserves to the starting thirteen to cover for Francis Meli. Meli is serving a one-match suspension for a grade two striking charge from last week’s game.

Back-rower Epalahame Lauaki has been forced to sit out the Roosters clash with a shoulder strain, which has resulted in utility forward Karl Temata taking a second-row spot alongside captain Awen Guttenbeil. Temata’s place on the interchange bench has been covered by the return of Sione Faumuina and the inclusion of Evarn Tuimavave. Head Coach Daniel Anderson will make a decision on the final make-up of his fresh reserves closer to kick-off.

The team for this Sunday’s game against the Roosters at Aussie Stadium, kicking off at 2:30pm (AEST) is:

1. Brent Webb

2. Henry Fa’afili

3. Vinnie Anderson

4. Tony Martin

5. Manu Vatuvei

6. Stacey Jones

7. Lance Hohaia

8. Jerry Seuseu

9. Paul Dezolt

10. Richard Villasanti

11. Karl Temata

12. Awen Guttenbeil (Captain)

13. Wairangi Koopu

14. Iafeta Paleaaesina

15. Mark Tookey

16. Evarn Tuimavave

17. Thomas Leuluai

20. Sione Faumuina

The team will travel to Sydney on Friday afternoon, return immediately after the game on Sunday night, and will have a light training run on Saturday afternoon.

------------------------------

This team can do it for sure. Tooks and Feka off the bench. Jerry should lift after watching them.
Te Mata and Koopu together.

We'll be fine 8)

Righto, Tuimavave should drop off the interchange.

After last weekend I saw young Leuluai's future and it was not in the halfs, it was at Hooker, he had a bloody good game out of dummy half I thought. Dezolt gave good service from there as well with his long passes. But what let Dezolt down was his lack of variety, I would have like to see him run more from dummy half. Leuluai mixed it up, it was good to see the guy becoming some use to us. Although I guess there will be no room for him when all our regular #9's come back.

I'm just hoping the Warriors give the Roosters one hell of a match, it would be a huge bonus for us to win on our current form. Here's hoping for a good one.

on the nrl stats leuleuai had no dummyhalf runs and no hitups for 0 metres so i dont see how you can say he was mixing it up and dezolt wasnt... but i do agree that his future is in the number 9 and i think he gave faster service to hohaia and jones.

Ignore NRL stats, they seem to be off the mark a majority of the time-
0 metres?Cmon,thats silly.
The Warriors still looked like crap against Souths and I cant see them getting close to the Roosters :(

Good to see we have some inspirational selectors.

Jerry....
Freakin...

Seu...

See you see you later my friend. I wouldn't have selected this chump this week. He hasn't consistently performed since 2002. It amazed me how much room Hohaia got on the weekend without having to be behind old Billy Joel Piano Man step routine followed by the knees up mother brown 4 metres forward 6 sideways, 3 backwards hit ups of Jerry Seu. Sorry to say it, but Jerry has been rank for the Warriors for a long time and he's quite frankly not deserving to hold out Paleaaesina or Tookey from a starting role.

When I question MrA's effectiveness as a coach, this is one of the
things that, I believe, gets marked with a cross on his scorecard.

Loyalty to senior players is one thing....but no one, of sound mind,
would believe that this bloke deserves a walk up start. It is just
dumb and sends a message saying ; it's ok to play poorly and be
out of form - I'm going to select you anyway.

Buga me

Cheers

To be fair (thanks for the quote Mad Butcher)

All coaches have their favourites,

e.g. -
Bob Bailey - Ron O'Regan, Cowboy Lonergan, Peter Brown
Graham Lowe - Any ex Otahuhu player
Howie Tamati - Anyone from outside of Auckland especially Maori (my opinion)
Frank Endacott - Aaron Whittaker

The list goes on and can be spread out to other sports.
I suppose the big question is did these coaches have the balls to drop their 'favourites'??

I guess its all just opinions, but I dont think Seu Seu's been that bad this season. He's been guilty of some sub-standard performances, but isnt exactly alone in that department. I'd still have him ahead of Tuimavave.

It's funny how not so long ago, everyone was crying because Seu Seu & Villasanti weren't spending enough time on the field.

Oh, have our short-term memories gone walkies???

Seu Seu is the same as most senior players in the squad, most of them are out of form. Hopefully the likes of Paeleasina, Te Mata and Tookey (on Sunday's performance) have given the props the kick up the arse they needed.

And can i just give big props to the unsung hero of the Warriors, Wairangi Koopu. There has been no one more deserving of a starting jersey then Koopu. Lose the mullet though mate, it ain't coming back.

agree.

i think villa was shamed into action on sunday by feka and tooks.
koopu is the backbone of our team at the moment, he is about the only one you can rely and depend on.

I think he played well for the last few weeks before his suspension, but I didn't want to disagree with Iafeta or Skinner, cos they might make fun of me.

Thierry, Thierry, Thierry,

You do us great injustice. This is a democratic forum where all views
and opinions are equal.....just, some views and opinions are more
equal than others. Fun making and bufoonery should be discouraged.

Yours, very sincerely
Skinner ;-)

Oh no!!!! The Smurf returns

Tony Martin will most likely not play due to a knee injury. Faumuina will move to the centres and Justin Murphy will move to the bench. There is also doubt over Vinnie Anderson.

Robster will be happy if Smurf takes the field
