Really good free-flowing game. Best game I have seen from Abbey; we may miss him after all. Hingano is really developing well and I like the way Erin Clark takes the ball to the line.
This style of football suits the Warriors and I just wish Cappy could realise this.
Tuli did huge minutes and ran over 200m. Ullberg got a hat trick.
But special mention to Tevaga; worked hard all day and really captained the side well. At one stage one of the substitute forwards dropped a ball. He was really gutted. Tevaga ran up, gave him a pat on the head and a word of encouragement and he was good to go again.
Hope Bunty is fit for next week.
Go the juniors.

Our juniors prove year after year after year that its not our player talent that's the problem its actually our professional business model and holding onto to players who are average at best or just dont kick on.

100% it is. That was my first thought when you posted about Hingano.

It's why I don't really follow the 20s anymore. Just shits me that I know if the Melbourne model was transfered over here, we'd probably be sitting on some sort of dynasty. Has there been one 20s kid in 8 seasons that you said 'he COULD make it' that has? Maybe Peta Hiku? Matulino was always going to be a star, so was SJ. So if you're saying that about Hingano, he probably should look for an Aussie club now.

Kevin Locke was always earmarked for stardom...

Remember to put all these performances in perspective. Its boys vs boys.
Theres zero D.

While they look great now, its against men where they have to perform.
Everyone was raving about Sam Lisone this time last year and he faded this season as the year went on. Started well but constant battering against men wore him down.

Big gulf between u20s and NRL.

Damn right and it's called NSW Cup.
And now we are starting to use it properly - to prepare first graders.

There is a key - we have very talented kids who have grown up always being bigger and stronger than their competitors - still my belief they often fail to learn the basics, get away with bad habits because of (at this age and younger) their superior size and strength, and they can turn it on for 15 min bursts to win games...

Doesn't work against men... they should seriously take a look at how the NZRFU handles it, because they generally get things right in terms of developing talent

Yeah if you look at rugby union they have been devastated by kids growing up always bigger than their opposition, its really affected the itm, super rugby sides and nation team.

I disagree, these kids are playing week in week out against opposition their equal size and if not bigger than them in the u20's. The cream always rises to the top regardless of size.

The only problem we just are not a professional club with adult systems. This club has lacked intellectual management assets be it in both the NSW cup and NRL.

NYC team named for preliminary final
The Vodafone Junior Warriors are one win away from reaching the NYC grand final from the bottom half of the top eight for the second season on end.
Last year the Stacey Jones-coached side made history by coming from eighth spot to not only make the decider but to also take the title with a 34-32 win over Brisbane.
Under first-year coach Kelvin Wright, the Vodafone Junior Warriors finished just one position higher in seventh at the end of the 2015 regular season and have so far eliminated the sixth-ranked Sydney Roosters and the third-placed Brisbane to set up a preliminary final against the minor premiers the Penrith Panthers on Friday.
The match (5.15pm kick-off local time; 7.15 NZT) will be played at a neutral venue – Suncorp Stadium – as the curtain-raiser to the NRL preliminary final between Brisbane and the Sydney Roosters. It will be the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ fifth trip across the Tasman Sea in as many weeks.
Wright has named the same side used in last Saturday’s outstanding 45-10 victory over the Broncos with Kauri Aupouri and Ata Hingano down to start in the halves and Erin Clark again at hooker for the injured Casey Lafaele. Clark, who has just turned 18, will be making his 27th appearance in his rookie season, the only player in the squad to play in every match.
The win against Brisbane was the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ 17th in 22 finals encounters since the competition started in 2008.
This week they’ll face a Penrith side which finished the minor premiership with 44 points from 20 wins and just four losses. In the only meeting with the Panthers this year the Vodafone Junior Warriors lost 28-36 at Pepper Stadium last month.
