Historical Round 6 Highlights:

• The Only Mascot "Sent Off" (1995)uring a Round 6 clash between the Illawarra Steelers and Balmain Tigers,
  Stanley the Steel Avenger
  became the first and only mascot in history to be sent off by a referee. He was dismissed after joining an on-field brawl between Steelers' Brendan O'Meara and Tigers' Mark O'Neill.
• Auckland Warriors' Attendance Record (1995): In their debut ARL season, the Warriors set a home crowd record of 32,174 at Mount Smart Stadium during Round 6. This record for that venue stood for 16 years until the 2011 season.
• The "M&M's" Jersey (1997): The Parramatta Eels broke a 50-year tradition by changing their jersey for a one-off Round 6 match against Manly. Partnering with M&M’s, they wore a special blue jersey featuring the colorful candy characters.
