Warriors v Spooners

It's not hate, he's just been underwhelming overall - there was a period where he looked good, but others where there's nothing

As for his running metres, well that's expected, it's his key strength he's no Cam Smith - people are quick to criticise Lillyman and Matulino, I imagine their metres are probably acceptable.

I gotta be honest and say I don't get the Luke hate, I feel like he's out there trying at least. Can't be hard to get crummy, slow, back foot ball most weeks.

It's not hate, more major dissapointment really. He was dynamic at the bunnies but we've haven't really seen that here.

I think he is in semi retirement mode, his buddy Kearney looks after his non performance by... we'll, selecting him every week.

Tell you what, can see the exact same thing happening if we sign Adam Blair.

Also, Bodene Thompson has been playing pretty well the last 4-6 weeks. Still overrated by Kearney, but has shown some improvement.

Bodene is capable of even more than this, he's been a monster in various stages of his time here. But that's exactly the infuriating part, all that ability wasted on being a lazy selfish bonehead on the field. Much like Kata, these blokes can certainly play.

Anyone else notice that Luke is often looking around when the tackled player is playing the ball and then has to pick it up from behind and under his own legs. Reach back, bring the ball back in front of him, then pass. As a former union halfback that makes me cringe every time. Doubles the time it should take to clear the ball. Get there earlier, look around and then be focused on the ball as it is played is how it should be done. poor execution of basics like this add up so much to the warriors overall crapness.
Love seeing Luke run though.

Social media are still upset that Gubb didn't make a comeback.

Well there's a rare tick for Kearney at least.

That's basic urgency isn't it; you can't coach will and desire. You never saw say Iain Henderson loafing around at dummy half, if there was even a tiny smidgen of opportunity he'd be all over it. Or even young Isaac at other clubs, he used to be a livewire.

He's just a lazy old bastard now.

I'm pretty conflicted about today's game.

1. I don't want us to lose to the Knights as we'd be confirmed, beyond all doubt, as an NRL laughing stock.

2. It's madness, complete madness, but I still have a desperate feeling that we're still a chance for the eight. Am I a Warriors nutter?

3. I want Hasler as head coach next year, and a big shake-up of club culture. If they win today then it doesn't help that prospect.

4. I'm not a mean person, when all is said and done. I feel a bit sorry for Mooks.

5. Mannering doesn't deserve this rubbish. Nor does Ayshford, Johnson and a couple of others.

6. It's the weekend, footy season, and I want to see a good game, a Warriors win!

7. Part of me is 'meh' about the whole thing.

This is our test. And its against the Knights HAHAHA...pfft. We're Knights level.

I was going to type 'its hope' but then my conscious said 'really?'. Were all mad.

I only feel sorry for us when he leaves us with the same excuse for losing every time we lose. For example, 'trust the process' - whats the process?, 'you know' - no we don't know. Frustrating games followed by a coach who frustrates some of us. Own that shit more Mooks.
5. Mannering doesn't deserve this rubbish. Nor does Ayshford, Johnson and a couple of others.
How many athletes leave for another club in pursuit of a championship. Look at LeBron James or more close to home, James Maloney.

I sort of hope so! It aint over till it's...yeah, you know.

I don't think I'm a 'Warriors nutter'. My yardstick would be Selwyn, who used to get around the Grey Lynn/Ponsonby area in the mid-nineties. He had a bike that was all done up in clown gear, Warriors streamers, stickers, homemade paint job (Warriors colours, of course), playing cards in the blue, red, green and white spokes, oh, and a horn on the handle bars, a transister radio in the front basket...

He also had a political agenda, a cardboard sign about 'saving RNZ sport' or something, on windy days he'd tie it to his back.

He was a bloody legend and I'd always say hello on my way home from the CBD.

"G'day Selwyn! How about those Warriors, ay?'
Selwyn: Honk Honk...

These days he'd probably just have a Facebook page.

The hilarious thing is now our KPI seems the same as the Knights, be consistent stay close and in the fight... difference is they have a young inexperienced team who were always going to be shit - evern with turdy McFuddles coaching we were a few golden point losses from the 8 last year

Now we're clearly among the no-hopers with the Knights, Tigpies (although they're both on the up) and the Dogs who like us have an overrated unbalanced squad and gameplans that are 10 years out of date - if they exist at all

Yeah, I am probably more up for this game than any other. I am going to watch it and pretend for 80 minutes that we are good.

Then again, we could lose.

Watching the juniors now and there's a Johns running around for Newcastle.

Also, by the way guys, I read today that Foran reckons 'they've made a commitment to finish this season strong'. So that's good. That's us fixed then.

I wish they made the commitment in Round 1

Problem is, if we win Kearney, Doyle, and our soft media will herald it as a "see I told you the process was working" moment

Probably if we win big. But surely fans won't be so easily fooled.
