Some things you just shouldn't mess with. He was struggling right up to the day he moved back to 5. It's no coincidence that as soon as he's back at 5 the runs started to flow. I predicted as much last year. Move him out of 5 and I'll bet you London to a brick they dry up again. Could be voodoo, or magic or whatever. Pup bats 5.
Watson can bat 4 and Ponting back up to 3.
I think thats just superstitious
Ironic that you say Clarke can only bat at 5, yet some one who is not good enough to make it in the team on his batting alone gets nominated to bat at 4, and just about every other position depending on who is posting at the time, yet one of the worlds premier batsmen is only good enough to bat at 5 and no where else.

Stats wont tell you when he was batting at 4, where was he playing, home or away, who was bowling RSA or the might of the Bangers, batting pitches or bowling pitches, pace or spin, were we winning at the time or losing, how were the rest of the top 6 batting at the time
