I use Logic on a mac for recording my own original songs and playing guitar, keys, vocals and bass... I program the drums using the Logic plug ins.

It is fairly straight forward and easy.... but I am by no means a pro audio engineer.
Seems we have a few musos among us. Would like to hear some of your guys original stuff once you get it recorded.

Ive never tried pro tools. Used to use Cakwalk Music Creator though before Presonus Studio 1. It was ok but you couldnt do some really basic things like change the fuggin tempo on a song you'd recorded. I recorded drums as the first track in my very first foray into recording using Music Creator. Went to lay down the guitar tracks next and could hardly keep up. Then I went to sing it and it sounded like a fecking auction.

Here's a song I wrote/recorded in Logic..

Two Trees: http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=187796

Drums are programmed but the rest of the instruments are all played live with direct input into the computer via a M-Audio USB hub thingy. Written on acoustic guitar.

And this one which was written on Piano:

And a bit more up tempo Iron Maiden inspired song (which I am yet to add vocals to)

They're great Poss. I like that website. See if i can load one of mine on there. How did you get the strings into the songs (orcchestral)?

Yeah, the iComposition website is good.
Just an easy way for novice/amateur muso's to allow other like minded folk to hear the stuff that no one else will likely ever hear.

All the strings are done on my Piano/Keyboard.

No harm done, bro. It was in Brisbane. Davies Park or somewhere I believe it was. Probably about 97 or 98. I think Dogs played the Mules in the Grandfinal that year. You got to play with them? That's way cool.

I think Buffalo Tom was one of those gateway bands that got me into jangly depressing awesome stuff.

Did a cool version of Under the Milk way with an impromptu band for a mates party, the solo was done on an electric harp. Brilliant. One of my favourite songs ever

Ah maybe livid festival or something? They're probably the most influential band for me but very underrated!

I did this is 2000. Does it count? Should I not admit to it? ;)

The Hard Ons program rage tomorrow night. Should be well worth watching. They're playing some of their live shit too which will be cool.

We need a dedicated aus rock education thread.
I have been getting into the early 70's stuff lately .
Chain
Spectrum
Axiom
Master apprentices
Zoot

All pretty similar but it must have been a cool time to be around.
That song "I'll be gone" by spectrum is an absolute classic .
It makes me want to cry .

That wiggles song is good too
:)
