Wayne Bennett to finish up at St George

Well Nev Costigan, St George legend is there & he's got very strong ties with Bennett. I heard a rumour from a good source that Bennett is the reason Nev is at the Knights at that Bennett will be coaching him next year. Bennett also picked K Gidley with his "coaches pick" for the All Stars game.

It all adds up if I use BunniesMan logic.

Personally, if he did leave Saints, I reckon Newcastle would be a much better fit than Souffs.

Agree. Similar lifestyle to the slower pace of Wollongong and Brisbane. Direct flights from Newcastle to Brisbane. Not a publicity hungry club. Strong ties to the community and fans.

Would be a goof fit IMO.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'd be over the moon if we landed Bennett, and I think the Knights would probably be the best option for him.

However, the Ennis thing is making me know it must be bullsh*t. There's no way the Knights would want to deal with his crap again when they already have a quality hooker.

I doubt anyone knows what Bennett will do. It's all speculation. He could very well retire or stay at the Dragons for all we know.

I think all this media speculation could be a calculated ploy by the media, to derail any move, apart from staying put at the Dragons or retirement to QLD. It happened with the Bennett move to Easts and it could be happening again with the move away from Saints... I know Buzz and the DT hate Saints but maybe they hate Souths more... Last year once Gaz started writing for them, all the DT choke crap stopped as soon as he walked in the door and Rothfield couldn't write crap anymore without having to look across and see Gaz staring at him...

Not sure why Boyd *has* to follow Bennett. He followed Bennett before because he was told he wasn't wanted by the Broncos but this time around he will have no shortage of potential suitors. Souths need a fullback. Roosters will probably have a crack knowing Minichiello is not getting any younger. Bulldogs may come into the frame if Barba doesn't work out. Not sure what Gold Coast are doing but I don't think their fullback options are stable.

Bennett isn't going to the Knights. There's no guarantee Tinkler will even win the vote. There could be enough anti-privatisation idiots at the vote to block it. Remember, they only need 25% to stop it.

And Bennett is going to make his decision before the vote even happens. The Knights without Tinkler are no hopers for getting Bennett, and they'll be without Tinkler at decision time.

PS. FYI - most people on these forums did not have a dislike of Souths until you started posting your drivel. We mostly felt pity for the plucky little underdogs. I find myself in the unusual position of hoping that St George (a club I have disliked for years) smash you off the park this weekend.

I actually feel sorry for genuine Souths fans who have to put up with you dragging their clubs name into the gutter on these forums with your arrogant posturing and garbage talking.

There was an article last year, I thought it pretty much said he would follow Bennett:

Agree, you'll actually find a lot of queenslanders hate the lifestyle of sydney, (i didn't mind it when i lived there) it is too busy for some people, they prefer a slower pace especially as they get older!
