WC Train on-squad

I'm not sure how many props they are planning on taking, if it's 5 or 6. Guess it depends if someone like Eastwood is in the squad. But the 5 that should be taken at minimum are

JWH
Kasiano
Matulino
Bromwich
Moa

And if they take 6 then Mckendry and Rapira battling it out

SBW degrades himself everytime he tries to get in the ring. Should just leave his boxing career out of it and focus on achieving everything and anything in league and rugby.

A RLWC would be huge for his CV, getting knocked out by Parker won't be.

Guess the money is too hard to turn down and Nasser is probably trying to weasel himself into the boxing world.

I'm going to be very annoyed at SBW if he chooses to not participate in the World Cup just so he can do some damn boxing...honestly, how often does a player have a chance to win a World Cup and Super Rugby title with Union, then switch to NRL and do the same thing? We definitely need him in there to bolster our chances.

SBW would make a huge difference to our chances. Just like he did last night. Definately need him.

Alan Mac today said he has made himself unavailable 19 times for the Kiwis!!!

Anyway, I think Moa played himself into the squad. Will be tough to get ahead of Kasiano, Matulino, Bromich and JWH though and TBH I look forward to sending that huge pack I just mentioned bully the Aussies if we make the final.

SBW will not be there. He does not respect or value the Kiwi jumper. He has never won in a Kiwi jumper. Ever. He has been asked if he is available. He hasn't given Kearney an answer. NEXT.

Last night, he dropped the ball at least twice, maybe 3 times. One of the dropped balls lead to a try. Missed a heap of tackles and miss-read the attack and allowed Matai's try.

He offloaded to Maloney to create an opportunity and made one bust up the middle to set the platform for Jennings try.

If you think about it, his errors contributed to two tries. He created an opportunity for two tries. Net contribution 2-2 = 0.

I know that's simplistic, but he is good and bad and not the greatest player ever, not even close. The Kiwis can win without him. The Kiwis are a much better side in 2013 then they were in 2008 and have heaps more depth.

What will count is not whether 'Opportunity" Bill is there or not, but the right other selections are made, the right game plans are laid, the players play to their best and the Kiwis have some luck.

:lol: oh so you did watch the game?

But this bloke is something else. It disgusts me. The clubs around him disgust me. Have some pride for gods sake. I don't watch him. Refuse to. I sat out the Superleague war too. Never watched a game either ARL or Superleague. I can't wait for the end of the season and I'll be spewing if he makes the GF because I'll have to miss it.

Yes I did. I sat and watched it with my son as we always do and I didn't want this bloke to ruin a tradition for me. The only other game I watched him play all year was against the warriors. Because I never miss the warriors.

I didn't enjoy the coverage and the ridiculous hype. It was SBW 26 Manly 18. Nobody else did anything. There was nobody else.....couldn't work out how DCE got man of the match?

But now he is gone and can be now be forgotten. RIP. I'll never have to watch him again.

You though, can forget league and watch rugby exclusively now.

Just enjoy the game for what it is.... A GAME!!

Exactly. I'll probably watch the odd All Black Test here and there if SBW is playing because he is a very entertaining player to watch. And sport is you know, a form of entertainment for the most part.

 what a load of bullshit. Unless he meant/you heard it wrong he has missed 19 Tests through injury.

Err yeah "injury" is that what we call this years one?

Regardless, It appears he has had 19 opportunites to play for the kiwis but hasn't played. Whether legitimate injury or not.

5 minutes of searching

2005 - http://www.smh.com.au/news/league/s...or-notrinations/2005/08/16/1123958062775.html
2006 - knee surgery
2007 - broken arm

He was injury prone like Benji (would have missed just as many, probably more Tests through the same time period) was as a youngster and his club pulled him out of tournaments/anzac tests looking after their star player, just like countless clubs have done with countless Kiwis players in the past. Should be having a crack at the NRL clubs if anything.

If he doesn't play, and does play for the All blacks. That's disappointing.

I'm sure he grew up dreaming of pulling on the black n white. It's a sad situation. If only he didn't walk out on the Dogs.

If he opts out of the World Cup but stays in league that will really piss me off....I really don't understand why he would do that. However, I wouldn't put anything past him in terms of who he does and doesn't decide to play for, and part of me is sort of over worrying about it. I just like watching him play.

I don't remember him turning down the Kiwis in his original league days, injured often for sure, but I can remember him being the only good player in the team, making half breaks every time he touched the ball while everyone else plodded around.

Wow, how can I compete with such an intellect. Sorry for trying.

Just a game to you maybe. I can't ever remember a time when I haven't been involved in the sport. For me, its an important part of my life. For you its a game. Like monopoly. You probably didn't turn up to training because it was raining and you had a little cough. It doesn't matter. Who care who wins, or has a go. Its just a game. Whatever.

As I said all along, what pi$$es me off, is the lack of respect SBW has for people who have a passion for the game. For him, its just a vehicle for SBW. There's no respect for us, and no respect for the sport. Its just about him. Him ticking his boxes and adding to his CV. But you people buy into that. But I don't.
