I cant lump him in with Norman though

No, he’s not as critical in my view.

Plus the benefit of the Sims family.

I’ve said it before but Ruan Sims in full stride is one of the best game analysts going around.

I’m not being p.c or a flaccid wokey , she’s just very prescient and an excellent observer.

Plus he’s inconsistent, that’s my beef with him. Very talented when he’s on, but you don’t know which Norman is going to run out.
The talented when hes on was unfortunately a long time ago.....I know which Norman is going to run onto the field now...its the not very good one...good footballers can look casual and make it look easy and produce the goods week in week out...for us our casual Normy produces very little and offers sweet bugger all most times Im afraid

Im pretty happy with Doogie, but he’s on some coin by our impoverished standards.

Hook was pretty kind about your sides effort on the weekend. The injuries and that we had too much possession were factors. He mentioned tries from kicks and a scrum but explained why it was important. Mary used to say this but didn’t explain why it was relevant. He’s worried about the depth in the backs. He thought the effort was there.

I sensed he was looking to present the side as battling at the moment, reducing expectations and that’s where he’s very different from Mary and all the promises of the turn around next week and who could forget “we could still make the finals” from 2nd last in round 20 etc.

I am not saying he expects the side to lose, not at all but he’s being cautious.

In contrast, Madge was less in the moment and future focused. This is because the moment up to the game has been a nightmare for him.

Hook didn’t mention the 37 missed tackles and the curse of the dropped ball and unforced errors which I thought had an impact.

He said the boys dug deep and probably right. I’m not a coach, but I didn’t see the early rounds side play. Anyway, he’s forgotten more about the game than I will ever hope to know.

The good news for you guys is that you have a lot of room for improvement, being matters directly under your control, things that can be fixed. And the luck factor. It would be horrific if this was your best game.
Hook said it was our best game. Lol.

They tried to trap him into a jdb comment, but he was way too sharp. He’s no ones fool.

And the catalyst will be the axing of Norman

& the culture of inconsistency & pea-heartedness he brings

Arthur recognised it long ago - Hook has yet to

Improvement in attack & consistency will flow from whenever his exit happens.

Hook’s rather blind support has given him a swaggering air of entitlement that is the opposite of the intensity required of Top 4 halves
The problem is with Sullivan injured we got no one else in the club that is a stand out 6
Clune is not the future or answer and does not have a consistent kicking game not Bird although will try something in attack
everyone calls for Dufty but he won’t handle the defence in the line he’s better where he is at 1

Yes Norman is a big problem.... Lazy, with a bad attitude. Can't believe, he's still there.

I agree with you.... maybe we could try Bird and Hunt in the halves...havnt tried that combo yet......although having said that Birdy has been a bit out of sorts the last couple of games....maybe still a hang over from his wretched run with injuries......I wonder if Munster is interested in a transfer lol
