Hazam is not the player he used to be and IMO he stays in 1st grade because of his lethal kicking, the Bulldogs won't upgrade his contract and I read somewhere they have actually downsized his contract thats why he's looking around (I hope he doesn't look in our direction).
And I reckon the reason BK does the kicking is to keep his name in front of the selectors as not only the BEST half-back but as a back up kicker to boot besides who is game enough to take the ball off him and take a kick.

Surely it cant hurt to at least give Merritt a shot at it. I doubt he could do much worse than Kimmorley is at present.

We need a kicker urgently. Kimmorley is a great player but, his kicking prowess...................Just not up to scratch for NRL.

I cannot recall ever seeing Merritt Kick goals.

Anyone got an explanation as to why we've never seen him kick ? I mean, he can't be worse than Kimmorley.

Did he kick in the lower grades at any time ? Did he ever kick for Souths ?

He kicked for Souths in PL last year when we played them at Aussie. Slotted them from everywhere too...
