Fair enough Staggs, but the reason I mentioned you is because you always speak highly of Mitchell, which is fine and your right of course, but I just wanted to point out that I am aware of him, but was interested to know who else is rated highly at other clubs.

Yes we could wait till we see if he can aim up in first grade, sure, but that probably means that we waste another year of not having someone in that position who can guide us. The other two we have here at the moment do not measure up enough in my opinion, and with a half that cannot organize our players, it is a worrying and major concern me thinks.

Add to that we will be losing three of our better offloaders at the end of this season and if we do not plan ahead with any real contingency options, this will become a glaring issue and should be addressed in this seasons signings.

but do you really think that our major issue is 9? imo since Robo filled the role in the 1st minute and Matt Keats came on in the 55th it's a been a very good rotational ploy by DA, it's not the greatest combination going around but it's a good fit for our side atm..and both are playing handy football.

you're right though, on the surface our three offloaders will look like big losses and they may well be, but given that the player market has only just begun in earnst DA may well have an ace or 2 up his sleave, I couldn't imagine he'd solely rely on the stock he currently has at his disposal, I think the 3 high profile players will free up just short of a million of the cap, but that's not accounting for upgrades..

Backrow is the issue. Shackleton could come back and solve some of this but I want to see Horo signed up and Mannah as well. They have both been well developed and we need to see the rewards.

About a month ago I asked people's opinion of Heath L'Estrange. He went to Super League and is contracted for next year, if I understand things correctly. I thought he was excellent for Manly. I don't think I got a single reply giving an opinion on L'Estrange.

I think we have to make peace with the fact that Kingston is gone for good.

Robson and Keating are going okay at this stage, and who knows what Anthony Mitchell might achieve in his career.

I do long for an experienced and accomplished hooker for the club, though.

Well, I see our 9 and our 7 as being the weakest link in our team this year. I don't think that we can afford to do anything about the 7, but for 9 there maybe an option, that is why I started this thread with that question. But it is as you say not our only problem and we do need a backrower. I think I would go for Sika Manu for sure, he is, from what I am led to believe on around $150 000 a season at present. He would be way worth around $200 000 for sure. This bloke is absolutely devastating.

Obviously Adam Blair is the number one pick, but he will go for much more than that and I don't think we can fit him in.

Hookers:
Nathan Fien ends 2012
Travis Waddell ends 2012
Jake Friend (roosters) think he's free ATM but "no d!ckheads" policy
Matt Hilder think he was recently re-signed
Aaron Heremaia unsure, don't think he's free
Ian Henderson same as Heremaia
Mark Flanagan I think 2011

Off-contract out & out hookers are:
Andrew McCullough
Glen Buttriss
Stuart Flanagan
Terrence Seu Seu
Ryan Hinchcliffe
Clint Amos
Anthony Watts
Luke Priddis
Are any of them really an improvement on current stocks?
Ennis, Nathan Friend, De Gois, Payne & Isaac Luke are off contract end of next year

That was the first contract, his other contract was $500k, 3 Ferraris and a house the size of the MCG

 Couldn't agree more, sane people realised this 6 months ago.

Gee, Anthony Watts off the bench I wouldn't mind, he adds plenty as a weapon there.

Having said all of that, isn't Cooper Cronk possibly going to be available, then the 9 wouldn't be such an issue.

Yeah I don't mind him, he is pretty good. Cooper Cronk, we have no chance.

Everytime i see Kingston run out for Penrith i feel so sick.

Miss Kinga sooooooo much!

Even though he was here for a year we grew to him so much and he even didn't want to leave I remember on footy show he didn't want to talk about it I felt sad he may b happy at penrith but u can see he still misses us and I wonder how it'll b when panthers play us and how he goes after the game with talking tithe boys

Ram, why have we no chance, shoudn't we be in there somewhere.

You only have to read some forums on here, say Sharks, and they are a chance for everyone

We have nurtured Mitchell for too long. It is time to give him a go. I rate him highly and have seen him score tries others could only think about doing on wii.

I think a lower grade hooker for depth is all I want to see, we really need a backrower. Hindmarsh will not go around forever and I think there needs to be a transition.
