Thats right people. A fearless prediction, but whos to say we cant?

Look at round 26 last year!

Riddell to step up once again and ruin the Warriors marker defence!

COME ON DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Dreams are free...

The odds are mightily stacked against us & a win today would fly in the face of what everyone's expecting but "it's a funny game, football".

I will be up the RSL watching it (and the cricket, if it's still going), and a win would be a pleasant surprise - but most of all I want to see effort, discipline & application.

Some of the "lesser lights" in the squad have been given a big opportunity to step up.

Cheers,
Ben S.

The last time we played over there we were without our SoO players and did well but the chances of it happening a second time aren't looking too good.
When Newcastle beat the Broncos up at Suncorp last year they played it out wide and took the Broncos forwards out of the game so maybe that would be where our best chances would be also but anyways I will be watching win, lose or draw and hopefully any loss won't be too humiliating.

We will win and it will be The Pig to the rescue,Riddell will cut sick on th Warriors which also means Timmins,Hornby,Blacklock have to lift on last week also.

I hope Tingha watched Mossy Roberts last nt cos he reminded me of Nathan at his best hangin round the middle in attack backing himself off his wing..............................great stuff

As usual Lance Thommo will have his usual good game but hell take it up a notch today while SOL ie Son Of A Legend,Dean Young will put in his normal 110 pc

Although i love The Firmanator i trust in Head and after 80mins today Saints fans will be singing Gimme Head cos hell carve to.

Dont worry guys its a coupla years ago revisited wen we went over with 7 out and thrashed nz

The last time we won against the odds in NZ it was a special moment. Aaron Gorrell was thrown into halfback and pulled out a tremenddous first half display; and one of the best kicking games I've ever seen.

We obviously need something similar or risk a few send offs to come away with a win. But imo, the Warriors' pack suddenly looks a lot bigger.

But ofcourse, as long they give their best shot, anything can happen.

btw and for those who are looking for historical parallels, here was a report from SOTV in 2002:

Dragons dominate complacent Warriors
Ericsson Stadium Auckland, 23 June 2002:
A depleted St George-Illawarra broke the New Zealand Warriors winning sequence with an upset 32-22 National Rugby League (NRL) win at Ericsson Stadium in Auckland today.
Seeking a ninth successive win, the Warriors came unstuck against a rampant Dragons team missing many regulars through injury or State of Origin duty.
The Dragons big forwards stopped the Warriors in their tracks with stand-in half back, Aaron Gorrell putting in a near perfect kicking game. Normally a hooker, Gorrell took full advantage of his opportunities in a first half display that saw the Warriors searching for answers.
Dragons' captain Lance Thompson led by example and was well supported by a host of willing helpers. Illawarra junior Ben Hornby capped a storming game with a brace of tries as did Lee Hookey.
St George stretched their 16-4 halftime lead out to 32-8 with three tries after the break which finally stirred the Warriors into action and gave themselves a sniff of a late comeback. But the Dragons remained intent on notching their fourth win of the season.
NZ Warriors 22 (Tries: Carlaw, Fa'fili, Webb, Toopi, Laui'titi. Goals: Jones 1/3 )
St George Illawarra Dragons 32 (Tries: Hornby 2, Hookey 2, Thompson. Goals: Riddell 2/3, Gorrell 4/5 ) Referee: M Cecchin.

i was there that day,, the warriors were sure favourites to win and win well.

nobody told the dragons.

i must confess to being worried when the dragons adopt the "underdog " tag :|

There were 17 Dragons players out there playing with a lot of passion that our guys should learn from.
Well done guys, your team deserved the win

Hope they had fun celebrating last night because they deserved it. Seeing them in a huddle on the field after the game was a good sight too.
