The way that you make the finals is win all the home games and jag one away from home. We have dropped 2 home games so that win gets us back one of those but I would imagine we would still need to win another two away and win all the home games left.

We only have 9 true games at home. You cannot call a match at an opponents home ground a home game in my opinion.

Well done Parra supporters I enjoyed the game.

Great performance away from home and I thought that referee was against you, but it didn't deter Parra at all which was good to see.

Great games imo from Folau, Peats, Sandow and Norman. Danny Wicks is playing well and Ma'u is strong carrying the ball and is fast on his feet.

We've lost 4 and are only -22. I've seen us in much worse position.

For and against is relative though. We could be 8th right now!

While -22 isnt too bad, it is still worse than anyone else In our bracket. Guess we just need to get a big win up somewhere to fix it.

If the Sharks win tomorrow night we will slip down to second last despite that great win. We can thank our shit differential. What a crazy competition.

Both Fafitas out. Gallen in doubt. Walker & Sutton back for bunnies.

The draw will determine this seasons comp more than ever.

It will never be a true competition untill all teams play each other twice, home and away.

Or, as is increasingly the case, the State of Origin disruption will.
S.O.O. has become the biggest blight the game has ever had. But big money and media hype can't be wrong, eh?

Yes all that revenue, television ratings, public interest including reaching a new audience, taking the standard of the game to a new level, are a terrible blight on the game.

I'd be surprised if it even goes ahead this year to be honest.

Yep, Origin has become too much of a disruption, it needs to be on stand alone weekends...

The draw is already unbalanced as it is because not everyone plays all other teams twice. Why should the Cowboys for example, have to basically forfeit a win at the start of each season when they play without JT, Scott, Taumololo etc during the Origin period. And on the flipside, why should another team be lucky enough to play against the Cows when they are so understrength and get a win.

Unfortunately like you point out, the ratings and income Origin generates for channel 9 during Wednesday night prime time means Origin will stay in its current format to the detriment of the NRL competition.

WTF? Taumololo now plays for QLD?

We play the Storm in Melbourne two days before Origin.
Hope we get the benefit other teams enjoy.

I wouldn't say it is the biggest blight the game has, but it's definitely a blight on the NRL competition

Woops!

I was thinking of that other Kiwi who turned his back on them to represent Aust (and NSW), Tamou... not that he should be anywhere near any Origin sides this year...

Well they won't have (at least) Slater Cronk or Smith. So for sure we will enjoy that 'benefit'. What we do with it is another matter entirely!

If we can beat them at Pirtek in round 9 then facing them at AAMI without their big three should be a less daunting task - we may even be at full strength or near to with Watmough no certainty for SoO selection this year based on form-to-date and Hoppa needing to settle in and re-find his lost confidence back in the centres.
