Webcke - How Tough Is He?

Shane Webcke has to be the toughest man in the NRL as he has just had a operation on his right knee similar to what Jana Pitman had for the Athens Olympics.

Webcke had this surgery only six days ago, just after the Broncos loss to the Melbourne Storm; he is now rated at a 90% chance of playing on Saturday!

Webcke also played in the 2000 Semi Final after four weeks after a broken arm and the Grand Final only five weeks after breaking his arm.

He also played in the first State Of Origin match this year with a damaged rib after an early tackle.

* In other Broncos news…

Tallis may start on the Bench tomorrow night.

David Stagg has flown to Townsville with the team today, and is expected to be named on the bench. The team won't be confirmed until just before kick-off.

Ben Ikin is expected to start as hooker shifting Neville Costigan to the bench.

A new candidate? The big prick has been tough as nails for years. As for 90% chance, wake up sunny jim, he is 100%. Shane is no footballer, he is a real man, in a real life, who is just as tough today as he was 5 years ago and will still be in 20 years time. The bloke is the true meaning of a dying term: Australian= Shane Webcke!! :clap:

Yeah no surprise really....awesome effort.

You dont get to be the No.1 frontrower in the world by being soft.

I have to agree.

They say Webcke is 90%, but it's 100% likely he'll play. Knowing what Webcke is like, he wouldn't want to miss the match.

Yes he is tough as nails

Don't know if it is a good idea for him to start. Could inspire or ruin the Broncos.

Webcke is what every footy player should aspire to be like... Just a true champion. He is a player that not only queenslanders love but also new south welshman, id say that is a great feat in itself.
