Just stopping in for a welfare check.

I know he’s controversial and the butt of humour, but a couple of the lads at west tigers forum saw that game and are really warming up to Bea as a coach…..if you don’t want him.

If the execution was wanting at times etc, the mental toughness of the eels was extraordinary and ffs we want a piece of that!

Cheers.

I think he has done quite a good job. I too enjoy this new level of mental toughness.

Hopefully the team starts well next year, otherwise he may come knocking!

Just a shame there was none of that mental toughness when were letting Manly put 50 points on us. We should of finished top 4 and we proved against the Storm and Penrith we have the game to challenge the top sides. You need to finish top 4 to win a comp. oh well next year is always the dream.

Legit question. How do you guys feel about the stoppage when Waqa was injured and already off the field?

I think the NRL need to have a serious look at the gamesmanship and cynical bullshit instead of coming up with stupid ideas like 7 tackle sets from a kick into touch.

As a Panthers fan I find it a bit annoying the amount of attention this one incident with Kenny is getting. EVERY team does the same shit week after week. You guys were the "cramp" specialists for a while there and arguably the innovators of the neck clutch followed by the miraculous resurrection.

The NRL needs to decide if the gamesmanship is in or out. It shouldn't make a difference when it occurs in the game or if it's a final or not.

In saying all of that I get why you lot are angry. I would have been ropable if you had won off the back of Fergo's theatrics. The anger is misdirected though, it's up to the NRL to stop teams exploiting shit rules. You know something is seriously wrong when Parra fans are bandwagoning for the Storm.

It's a shame someone had to lose that game. Both teams were immense. It should go down as one of the games of the last few years for intensity and commitment from every player on the field.

Something that stood out to me in the game was the blocking done by players in the attacking team. A few times I saw Dylan Edwards stand next to the play the ball and effectively take the markers out of play when they were rucking out from the try line. I also saw JFH do it once as well. I would have thought that this would constitute an obstruction call.

What about the blocking when Edwards and the wingers were doing kick returns luai and co would stand in front in defense line and block them moving towards the player with the ball to make a tackle. I reckon it happened 3 or 4 times and edwards was able to make an extra 5-10 metres because someone on the kick chase was impeded

Well no, Cooper. There is a guy on here who has been absolutely giving it to his own team since 10pm Saturday night.

=============================

Cooper Cronk said it was “an absolute cracker” of a game and congratulated all of the players.

“I thought there wasn’t a bad player on the field. I know the second half had a lot of errors, but congratulations to all 34 players, they was honestly on the edge of your seat from the first minute until the very last, that was so good,” he said.

The most enthralling element of the clash was the gritty defence. The final score of 8-6 shouldn’t be waived away as a boring game with only two tries, it instead tells the story of incredibly gritty defence from both teams.

“I don’t think I’ve seen a game this year where both sides have defended standing on their tryline for so long and just kept repelling and kept scrambling to keep denying each other tries,” Alexander said.

“It started from that first linebreak by Api Koroisau, Nathan Cleary centimetres from scoring a try, the next play over in the corner saved a try and it went on,” Cronk added.

“I think there was three more in the second half, Pangai Jr was held up, Koroisau went within inches of scoring a try. It was an inspired defensive performance from Parramatta, so resilient, so tough.”

In the end it was a penalty goal that got Penrith over the line, and plenty would argue Parramatta were the better team on the night. Anasta says that’s what makes it a “heartbreaking” result for Brad Arthur’s side.

“If you’re a Parramatta player, coach or a fan, you’ve got to be proud.

“That’s their best semi-final game in a very long time. They got so close and they were so tough.

“It’s heartbreaking to not see them come out on top after that because they probably deserved it in the end.”

I agree with you, though others may not. I am starting to get seriously sick of NRL allowing the officiating to be dictated according to the type of the game(another one of NRL's issues not the Panthers). As it stands, we might as well have 3 types of officiating: Regular Season, Origin, Finals. We might even add an extra one in there: Regular Season + Player Safety.

Firstly who gives a f**k what that world champion biased fart sniffer Stupor Gronk thinks?? And who’s been on here since 10pm Saturday night bagging the team???Pretty much everyone on here were rapt with the effort in what was the game of the year.

Disappointed our season is over but unlike previous seasons where we went out with a whimper Saturday night that was not the case.

Imo Gus and his dickhead media mates have a lot to answer for when the NRL tried to crackdown a year or 2 ago complaining they were ruining the game. The coaching tactics were ruining the game, not the refs. If they had have stood their ground the coaches would have changed tactics and the issue of the day disappears. By backing down coaches know they can coach the players to exploit whatever they can and it's making the game a joke. 2 prime examples on Saturday was Fergo and JFH staying down after nothing incidents to get a bs penalty. The Sorenson one not so much, that would have genuinely knocked the shit out of him, although Klein was right there and it was so obvious it should have been called before he even hit the ground.

Things like Moses being tackled off the ball is kind of forgivable given the speed of the game, but the video should pick shit like that up. If they can go back and disallow a try for an incident early on a play that was missed they should do the same in that situation. Or preferably get rid of it all together and only rule on groundings.

f**k off, Ferguson's was one incident in a game where your side constantly milked penalties and got away with breaches that weren't penalised. You didn't deserve to win and you better believe I'll be hoping the Storm smash you. Dirty f**king team. You're right about the rules though. If more of our players carried on like Ferguson we would've won.

Bunch of f**kn sore losers. That is all. Parra had 40mins to score points. Blaming refs is giving them the right to control your own destiny. Storm rarely do this cause they win by more then 8 points. Anything less and your risking a loss to a dodgie call. That's sport.

Strom did the same against Eels. B.Smith stayed down when we had momentum as did other players a few times. Everyone does it. Some do it better.

Just watched Annesley spin on the match in his weekly bull s--t session.
According to him Moses should of received a penalty that was missed so no need to go further with the play when Penisini was possibly taken out and the possible Naden knock on. He said Penisini more than likely knocked on.
Ray Stone knocked on when attempting to pass the ball. His reasoning was his right hand was on the ball.
Gutho was not stripped and possibly he could of been judged to of knocked it on.
No mention of Papalii receiving a high tackle near the post. Probably no way to cover it up so does not bring it up.

The sooner he goes to the Brisbane Olympic committee the better.

Constantly milked penalties? The JFH one I'll go along with as milked, but the others were called as high shots with no milking required, all penalised before the player hit the ground. The Will Smith one I thought was a harsh call, but that is hardly Liam Martins fault, he just took the tackle. The rest were dead set high shots with a few that would have been sinbins a month ago.

You don't think Moses milked the obstruction call on the Luai no try? You also didn't answer the question on the Waqa stoppage.

Don't leave it too long. Fair chance it's all done by 6.00pm Saturday.

Moses was deliberately obstructed in a try scoring situation. Luai should've been binned. That's different to an accidental crusher or getting in front of a decoy runner in case he's not a decoy.

And I don't see the problem with Blake's substitution. He landed on his head a long way from our own tryline and we got no advantage from replacing him with Will Smith in our defensive line. In fact it was Smith defending at centre who conceded the game winning penalty. On the other hand your team was defending its own tryline and got to stop a quick play-the-ball to substitute a fatigued midget with a sore ankle for a fresh marquee forward whose only weakness is inability to play long minutes. It's a false equivalence.
