Steelers D out produced the league last season in terms of points/yards conceded.
Top 5 (yards conceded) at the moment without Harrison seeing the field and Polamalu out for the last 2, ain't bad.

Cards beat New England on their home deck and Philly.
Seattle beat Green Bay and Dallas.
Niners beat Green Bay away and Detroit.

Now aren't they all supposed to be high scoring offenses? I'm pretty sure it was defense which won the Cards, Seahawks and Niners those games. The Rams have played some suffocating D also.

I think it's pretty clear the NFC West has been the best defensive division in football so far this season.

Pitt has played Denver, Jets and Oakland.

They lost to the Broncos and beat 2 of the worst teams in football in the Jets and the Raiders. They should be top 5 in total defense, probably higher.


Sorry i just remembered the Raiders beat Pitt (conceded 31 points, oh my)

I agree, they should be top 5, and they are. They're only going to get better with Harrison and Polamalu coming back with their contributions, which will also benefit others who have been quiet (Woodley in particular).

I've been watching the eagles/steelers game this morning thanks to one.

the eagles offence can't get anything going with these turn overs. also D jackson has been non existent for one and a half seasons. such a shame with so much potential wasted.
