Fire the canons!!!

Stoked the boys came back from 14-0 down. 2 wins in a row on the road and slowly getting some players back. Jacquizz Rodgers looked great again today, when Doug Martin and Charles Sims get back on the field, will be interesting to see what coach Koetter does with him. Big game at home against the Raiders coming up, might have to chuck a sickie....

It's going to be a great game, mate! Our chance to get some revenge for SB37 haha.

Yeah mate, you're boys are looking real good hey. Derek Carr looks great this season.Fingers crossed the Tampa faithful get out and support their team because we are starting to see the makings of a really good football side. Its only taken 6 f$&@ing years.

My god we have been awful through that period.

In all seriousness, who picks the games for primetime? I can only assume they're trying to intentionally get shit ratings to get out of a contract or something. Next week we get an epic Bears/Vikings showdown..

I agree they have been awful. I think I counted three good games in total coming into this week (including Thursdays). However, on paper I actually think they got this week correct. Not the NFL's fault that AZ and SEA decided touchdowns were taboo and also not their fault that the division leading Texans decided to give $73million to someone that plays scared.

Eagles Cowboys next week will be good but you are right about the Monday game.

If Osweiler is worth $73million then Derek Carr is worth $4 Billion!

the texans deserve nothing less, forking out that kind of money for a qb they had no idea would pan out. not sure how they protected themselves against him busting. anyone know how much of the contract is actually guaranteed?

It's basically a 2 year/36 mil deal
They'll be able to get out from under it after next year

It still baffles that they signed him without ever meeting him or him seeing the facilities. He is the lowest rated QB on PFF. Hopkins is on track for <1000yards after 1500 last year with Hoyer and backups. If Houston miss the playoffs then they need to clean house. 7-9 or 8-8 probably wins that division. Should come down to Houston @ Indy.

Osweiler would possibly look good at the Broncos. Some QBs are just perfect fit for specific schemes or scenarios and when you move them they are trash.

I love watching Brady, but if you took him away from belichick and into the Texans system I bet he wouldn't look anywhere near as good.

The worst part for Texans fans is they passed up on Derek Carr twice....

The first round I understood wholeheartedly as there was legitimate hype around Clowney...

But taking RG Xavier Sua-Filo over Carr in the 2nd was just crazy... all apparently because they were spooked by his older brother David... which is kinda crazy when you consider that franchise and its lack of protection probably ruined him more than anything...

It's funny though... I have a mate who's a big Taxans fan as he is originally from Houston... but in the 2014 draft he couldn't stop giving me shit about getting a Carr... it's nearly flipped completely now as I love to remind him the Taxans could have had Mack & Carr themselves... hell even our 3rd rounder in that draft Guard Gabe Jackson is miles ahead of Sua-Filo...

I can't joke too much though... that 2014 draft pretty much turned around our entire franchise...

How so? You haven't even landed a wildcard spot in the playoffs since then yet?

Derek Carr is a decent QB but he's still barely proven a thing yet. The Raiders are a good side this year, but they're far from a lock on the playoffs either.

They're a drastically better side than the shit show since 2003 though.

How so??

That draft we grabbed what most experts see as a franchise QB... And even if you don't agree with that... He's definitely in the conversation to be a top 10 QB in the league... Getting that on its own is franchise changing...

Then factor in the drafted Khalil Mack... Who although he has started slow this season is coming off his second season where he became the first player in NFL history to be named all pro in 2 positions in the same season.

Add in Gabe Jackson in the 3rd who's become consistently one of the highest graded guards in the league by PFF...

And even the likes of Jelly Ellis and TJ Carrie who have made decent contributions to the team.

That allowed Reggie to cut a heap of the salary cap hell we were in and build a competitive football team...

Your right that we haven't made the playoffs yet.... But considering where the franchise was before that draft... Its given the franchise a chance to not only make it back this season... But for a sustained period...

My point is, plenty of crappy teams draft good players, that's kind of the point. Very little has been proven yet though, so to say the franchise has 'pretty much been turned around' is a little premature. Khalil Mack has had an up and down season, his talent in undeniable though. Derek Carr is also talented but he doesn't have a playoff game to his name, so he isn't in the discussion for a top 10 QB yet.

Raiders are a top 15 team this year, but I don't think they're in the discussion for top 10 just yet. I was merely pointing out your hyperbole was little premature, especially when AFC West is looking even stronger than last year as a whole.

I think making the playoffs is too simplistic of a metric to decide if a QB is top 10 or if a team team has truly turned a corner...

I mean Brian Hoyer made the playoffs last season... yet I don't think anyone on planet earth other than Mrs Hoyer would say he's a better QB than Carr.

The team will just have to make the playoffs I guess...
