The Hustler was gone at the top of the straight, Orange County went past him like he was a plodder. Maybe trying to turn him into a stayer has ruined him. Maybe he needs another spell, or maybe he wasn't the horse the media hyped him up to be???

At least the Cat looked like he's back but he'll be spelling now.
Who is Australias best horse(forget the world) the Cat,Maldivian or the Hussler or is there another contender?
Samantha Miss lost no admirers today.
Hussler never a chance but ridden wrongly IMO.
Not blaming the jockey entirely either.
World rated.Doubt any are realistic top 10 contenders but theres always next week.

Great win by Apache Cat and an excellent ride. Corey Brown must be kicking himself.

Surely your not suggesting Orange County is anywhere near the class of the Hussler?
The horse is entitled to a bad run and is a champion and still only young. I hope plenty of more punters hold your view because next start it won't be backed out to ridiculous odds.

Umm Orange county going past The Hussler was my point :? OC is a handy horse and won me a bit of money over the years but is nothing more than a very handy horse. But him and Vormista gave him a cold yesterday.

As i said training him to a stayer seems to have left him flat and maybe he needs a spell. But maybe he isn't the all conquering champ that many thought he was??? Time will tell but he has been a beaten short priced favourite in his last 4 runs has got to be worrying for the connections. And to think people were comparing him to a horse like the Mighy Vain.......

The Hussler is one of the most overrated horses going around in years. No real champion to compete with.

Reasonable horse yes champion nope.

I would like one of my horses to win 6 Group 1 races - champion or not he is pretty good.

Trainer is questionable though only giving him 4 weeks in the paddock after last years big prep. If he were mine that's where he would be until the spring and aiming him for the Cox Plate

Yep harsh, he has won 7 group 1's. No matter what the quality still a great effort. But the comparsions to Manikato and Vain were laughable.
