I think I have lost my appetite for weeks after reading this thread :( I cannot believe first world people eat dogs.

I dislike dogs, so petty vengeance was a motivating factor. I'd eat Cronulla fans if I could do it without getting Creutzfeldt-Jakob

I've had wild pigeon breast...properly prepared it's excellent, kind of like extra gamey quail...

I'm not as adventurous as some. Have had the normal local game, crocodile and emu and whatnot...monkey (just not nice)...civet (kinda like rabbit, but oilier)...actually some people seem to think rabbit is weird. When we lived in Adelaide a family friend loved muttonbirds....tried that, just terrible. Jellyfish is weird...

Deep fried scorpions are great. I had them at the Dong Hua Men night markets in Beijing in 2008 and again in 2012.

I've not tried scorpion yet. I pussied out when given the chance to eat 'em deep fried in Arizona. Might be on this trip's 'to do' list alongside those spiders that Garts mentioned in the travel thread.

I don't try out of the ordinary food, because I'm a wuss. The weirdest thing I ever ate was canned spaghetti on white bread with salt and vinegar crinkle cut chips. It was a weird combo, but it was oh so glorious at the time. I may or may not have been high :|

Human meat is especially succulent

And now I can say i know for sure.

Placentaphagy

A bit like liver or kidneys. Tried a bit cooked on its own, not bad.
A dash of olive oil, salt and garlic work wonders.

Have to confess though - I've cleaned my own meat umpteen times, but had to take a deep breath before diving into this.

As a kid I probably had a pie from the old Charlestown Pie Bar. What's so weird about that you might ask? Well they developed a reputation of being the nicest pies in town but eventually got done in by the health department cause all these tins of Pal dog food were found out the back of the shop. Dunno if that was just what the filling was or if they cut it with Pal.

Mind you Mel Gibson prefers Dinky Di Dog Food. Ate it himself
