Jes, in the match threads we have been including a snippet which says no TBAs allowed:

eg:

5v5 + 2 reserves each
No TBAs
Captains must stick with original teams named

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=182826

We only started spelling it out last season, but TBAs have been considered a no-no for a few years now.

It hasn't been formalised in the rules to that extent but it should be.

Thanks, Willow and Pistol!

So...what's the penalty? I suppose it falls back on the default of any article by an unnamed player won't count towards the final score?

I imagine the player's article won't count. Penalties are at the discretion of the referee.

My position on this, is that the (TBA) player's article will not be included for scoring
in that particular match and it also will no longer be considered an original piece.

A precedent was set last season.

Won't the no TBA rule just be circumvented by captain's delaying the naming of the team until the last minute? should this rule be accompanied by a deadline for naming the team? eg. teams must be named by one week before fulltime?

No, it stops the captain changing the line up during the match.

As long as its done before fulltime, the captain should be able to name the team whenever he/she feels like it. The only trick is to make sure that no one posts until the captain names the team... so they have be in good communication with each other.

Personally I think its a credible tactic for a team to delay the naming of their team until the last minute. If they're organised enough to do it, then good luck to them.

Completely agree with Willow here, and that is what the smart captains do.

Can't really see us setting a deadline for putting up a team list, although everything
is up for discussion.
