The last paragraph from Mike Gibson's column about Stee Mortimer in the Tele this morning:

"It's ironic though that the little bloke who used to fly home to his family first thing in the morning should get the shove because of pressure from a mob of blokes who stay up drinking all night and getting into strife."

Well said, Mike.

And to those Bulldogs players who I hope have only a limited time left in their fantasy lands: You're a disgrace. Have a good, long look at yourselves. You won't like what you see.

A great man, Steve Mortimer. A great man.

Even at the height of the Salary Cap drama's, he still had the time to coach the Aquinas Colts. Name me one other CEO that would do that.

IMO, he was the last bit of integrity that the club had. Now they're nothing but a pack of coke sniffing rapists.

Possibly one of the worst tackles I've ever seen and from last I heard, admittedly several years ago, Mark still had some ill effects as a result.

On field I couldn't stand the filthy little merkin.

But off-field I have to admit he's a good clubman who'd do anything for his club.

Hard to tell with Wackers.
He's sees a lot of "green" , so to speak.
Living up at Tugun. Hangs out with Freddy Teasdel. A bit to do with the Tugin Seahawks I think now.

The Bulldogs are nothing short of an absolute disgrace...and who knows, this sort of thing could just be the tip of the iceberg.

How low can they go?

Your saying this about the whole club. Steve Price and El Masri are 2 of the most gentlemanly figures in our game. Yet you pidgeon hole the whole club

Were those two players behind the push to get rid of Mortimer?

I didn't. I'm referring to the players behind the push to get rid of Mortimer. I'm also referring to those players who acted like rat bags and then strut around so arrogantly.

But to your point - as long as they call themselves a team and rally around their own, then they must all cop the abuse. And I agree, in Steve Price's case particularly, that is very sad indeed.

You, as a supporter, should also be filthy with the way this investigation is being conducted, because whether it be the case or not - it looks like the club is condoning the behaviour of a few guys with 2-cent characters.

It’s just not good enough.

I'll quote something that ibeme posted in this thread http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/viewtopic.php?t=17307

"The thing that hurts the club most is that there are allegations and, because they are still the subject of a police investigation, the club cannot discipline players who broke our rules for fear of prejudicing the outcome of the investigation.”

Who pushed th have Mortimer sacked? I havn't got a clue who did. I will be ticked off at the player if/when I do find out.

As to condoning the behaviour, see the above quote.

It aint good enough. But there isnt much they can do about it at the moment.

Statements like that are great. Unfortunately they are not being backed up by similar actions. The way the players turned up to police investigations is just one of the most visible demonstrations of this. That they are even suggesting they would appeal their fines is ludicrous.

I don’t blame you for being passionate and defending your team. It’s just that some of their actions are indefensible… and that’s before the police hand down their verdicts.

I hope when that does happen – bulldog justice is swift and uncompromising if need be.

There should be no excuses.

110% agree with you mate, What a top bloke he is, i use to play for the colts and he would always have a beer and a chat with the blokes, he also use to help our team alot, and everytime i see him he comes out of his way to say G;day and have a chat, i hold Mr.Mortimer in the highest regard.

I totally disagree.
If I was Mason or Sherwin, I would look at legal avenues open to me for the the slurr these fines have placed upon my character.
Who f**king cares, even if they come in speedos! At the end of the day, it is their lives on the line.
These players are not one entity in a legal case. The team or club are not being prosecuted. The individuals are. They had no obligation to appear at the questioning. So why should they be told what to wear.
For any official to have jumped the gun & pre-empted anything or cause a public perception about one of their players, is ridiculous, dangerous & unprofessional.

Steve Mortimer was in over his head. He is not qualified for the job. That is why he is gone.
His job requires someone with acumen, not passion.
