He is 36 and prob won't get his union contract renewed in May.

He is a good player, past his best though, but he will excel in ESL.

:lol::lol: Couldn't help yourself?

In all seriousness even if he doesn't add much on the field which could be the case at 35 hios signing would be worth alot in publicity alone.

Probably play wing or centre if he does indeed sign.

Allready posted this in the Crusaders to Wrexham topic.

In all seriousness, the man broke headlines admitting he's gay. I don't know how well this sat with welsh fans, so instead of a PR coup we might be looking at a PR hot potato.

In union he plays wing, centre or fullback. These days there is no real difference between the codes for those positions. I can't really seem any problems with the transition (if he does sign).

He is 36 in july and well past his best, he would add nothing as a player. To sign someone because he MIGHT be good PR is a step in the wrong direction.

There's no down side to this, except that the club will have to pay him.

*He will bring plenty of publicity.
*If he's good enough (unlikely) he will add some depth to the squad.
*If he's no good it will show that union players can't hack league, which will rile the Stephen Jones types who can't wait to call RL converts failures as soon as they put a foot out of line.

This is the broken down old league forward who switched to RU in 2005 after winning the Golden Boot Award for best rugby league player in the world in 2004?

The same broken down old league forward who won the Man of Steel award in 2004 for being the best rugby league player in Great Britain?

The same guy? One of Great Britain's best ever rugby league players of all time? The old broken down league forward who was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to the game?

Gee...he must have been pretty good for a broken down old league forward.

If they knew what they were doing, the Crusaders would have been doing things like this a couple of years ago to coincide with their entry into ESL.

Yes the same man who was moved to prop from 13 as his body couldn't hack the position anymore and who ended up playing 12 for England RU.

Shame really, if they had got him before the injuries he would owned the sport, and Wigan RL would of been a worse team. ;-)

Farrell was given a chance simply because they knew he was a good player and they wanted to see if he could make it quickly.

Unfortunately he never made an impact and quickly dropped.

Farrell was given a go because there was no-one better. Looking at the current England team there probably still isn't.

If "Mad Dog" can still cut the NRL i'm sure Thomas will be fine over here.

After all the quality is so poor players like Orford are coming over here and looking brilliant...

Understand now or do you need pictures and diagrams to understand the point?

The year he signed with RU was also the year he won awards for being one of the best RL players in the world. True?

You are also aware he had a car accident between playing RL and playing RU, aren't you?
