We're at the bottom of the table

Despite a good performance against Souths, Canberra's win VS Easts sees the Warriors at the bottom of the table.

We've never collected the wooden spoon (must only be us and Melbourne). Off the top of my head I can't recall us being at the bottom either during the season - can you (not just 1 round)?

There are a few must win games coming up starting this weekend vs Canberra.

We were at the bottom of the table a few years back when we were docked two points before the season kicked off because of some previous managment rorting the cap if I remember rightly.
Funny I don't really feel anything that we're at the bottom of the table after enduring last years joke. After what I've seen in the last two weeks I'll be surprised if we are there for long (but after last year I doubt I will be surprised).
I remember Brian's words prior to the 2012 season kicking off "I think you'll be surprised by the team this year" well I for one was.

Manly and Brisbane haven't collected and perhaps the Titans too.

Although we are last, the Roosters, Cowboys and Souths games give me hope. Canberra in Canberra will be hard but if we win here, I think we'll be in good steed for the season

Titans haven't seen the spoon as they've only been there for a few years. Previous GC teams (Chargers, Seagulls) have though. I reckon Manly have since they kicked off in 1947 OR 1949?

Of course Broncos haven't been there.

I liked the way they've played lately but we do need to get on a roll.

Way too early yet to worry about such things...if by the second half of the season things have not improved...then worry! At this early stage you pull out a couple of wins, you go up a few rungs, lose a couple you're at the bottom

2006? It was four points docked and I recall we missed the finals that year by...four points!

Sione Faumuina was rocking the house that year though...not sure we've had any decent in your face mongrel since.

We may be last on the ladder, but we are also only 2 points behind the teams placed 7th and 8th. Pretty even comp so far.

Thats right i remember when we won our second game Sione gave a zero sign to a couple of the others and it looked like he was saying something along the lines of "we are on zero yay" as they left the feild.
Also remember Phil Goulds comment that even though we diddled the cap we still managed to finish second to last so a fat lot of good that did us.

We won't get the spoon. A few weeks ago I would have thought it was a near certainty TBH, but frankly we've played 3 good games and just needed a bit of luck and we'd be 3 and 2. I honestly don't think its beyond the realms of reality twe go on a 3-4 match win streak somewhere through the season and find us on the edge of the 8. Besides, with the way Souths and Melbourne are unbeaten, its opened up a gap between the top and bottom, and really it could mean less points than its traditional to need to get into the 8.

I'm backing us for 10th. And I'd be happy with that off the back of last year. As long as we trend in the right direction towards next year with hopefully one or two big buys added in.
