Can't see any West Ham threads here so i thought i may as well. I realise that there are not many hammers fans in here so i might end up talking with myself but here goes
..
No doubt the season will be full of What if's.. Why's and what the's as there normally are when it comes to West Ham but that's part of the fun of being a fan of this club. The last 10 weeks of last season was one of the most exciting roller coaster rides i have had with any club ever, whether you agree with the fine opposed to points deduction or not, no one can deny them what they did to pull themselves out of the relgation zone and pull off a great escape..
All that is behind us though now with some cash being spent to consolidate with a view to more being spent to make the Hammers the force they should be..
So to the season at hand.. So far so good i suppose. One loss to an inspired Man City in the opening round followed by a draw and 3 wins sees us in 6th spot at the moment with a game in hand on many.
Injuries haven't been kind so far but that happens, on a positive we are playing pretty well without those players so things can only get better when they come back into the squad.
This week we play Newcastle away, hopefully former Newcastle captain Parker will make his return against his old club, unsure if Freddie will play but Bellamy definately won't leaving us with Ashton and either Bobby Z if fit, or god forbid Carlton Cole (i don't know which is the worst option) to partner him.
Strangely it's been our depleted midfield that has been firing and we will need that again this week, Bowyer as much as i don't like him has scored a few and done some good things but he makes just as many stupid errors...
We have the best keeper in England in goal although it doesn't seem the selectors are to keen on him anymore... All the clowns last season claiming that Tevez on his own saved the club from being relegated have sadly under valued the contribution of Green to that, just remember the game against Arsenal as a good example and he has carried that on this season.. If you don't have him in your fantasy teams get him in there quick !!
Will we beat Newcastle away? Of course we will, traditionally West Ham do not have the best away form but i think their confidence will be up after to 3-0 victories in a row, one of which was away.
There are plenty of australian hammer fan groups around the place who meet up for games in different locations around Oz in capital cities.. Details can be found at www.ozhammers.com click on branches to find your closest.
Cmon you Irons !!!
