OK,
This thread is silly, but it is funny.

I don't think Viv would play anywhere but halfback and chief playmaker. Lara would be on the bench if Viv played.

yeah dood i thought it would be a bit of fun.
I was gonna have viv in the halves but he was a bit stocky and i thought he could still play a pivot role from lock alah Kosef.

On serious note i hope league does take of there in a big way, imagine how exciting they would be if they got good.

Coincidentally, Richardson and Garner keep their position in the batting order too :D

A good team. No room for Greenidge and Haynes though. Interesting They could've both easily slotted into the pack, letting their aggressive ball playing speak for itself.

Lara is one half back I would not like to come against. Whilst he may not be the quickest with spreading the ball, he would certainly would not be someone you would run against in the defensive line.

I'd suggest a few changes
1. Holding - wonderful athelete - think Lockyer
2. Dujon - all class - think Boustead
3. Richardson
4. Greenidge - all class
5. Haynes - you can't separat Greenidge and Haynes!!!
6. Richards - Think Wally Lewis
7. Brian Lara - Langer to Richard's Lewis
8. Roberts - very mean
9. Gomes - good service, not flashy - think Simmons, Conescu
10. Garner
11. Lloyd
12. Ambrose - giant 2nd rower..
13. Marshall - 80 min man

The bench
14. Croft - real firebrand!!
15. Winston Davis - more fire from the bench
16. Courtney Walsh - another workaholic
17. Lawrence Rowe - the enigma!!!

For what it's worth, that's how I'd line them up - tremendous combination of fire, power, pace and class!!

To battle with an Aust line up...

1. Greg Chappell - think Belcher
2. Doug Walters - an enigma...
3. Steve Waugh - think Steve Mortimer
4. Mark Waugh - think Steve Rodgers
5. Dean Jones - speed to burn
6. Ian Healy - great hands, distributor
7. Ricky Ponting
8. Len Pascoe - mean bugger
9. Allan Border - see Royce Simmons
10. Max Walker
11. Dennis Lillee - Gorden Tallis
12. Jeff Thomson - Pascoe, Lillee and Tommo - now that's mean!!
13. Matt Hayden - think Brad Clyde

14. Glenn McGrath - see Trent Waterhouse
15. Rodney Hogg
16. Geoff Lawson
17 Ian Chappell.

Plenty of mean front/2nd rowers there too. Would have loved to include Marsh and Warne, but don't think either have the fitness required

George Headley is another must in the Windies side. He wasn't called Black Bradman for nothing.

Big Patrick Patterson would've been a sensational wide-running second-rower although he was injury-prone. I'd have Keith Athurton at halfback instead of Logie.

Big Merv and Greg Richie could be the Tookeys on the bench. :D/

On a partly serious note, I hate to break it up a little but does anyone know if any of the Windies Cricket players have had any contact with League or League identities when in Australia. I would be great to have one of the famous Cricketers as the Patron or involved in some way with RL.

I remember reading an article about Viv Richards and his love for the game of league. No Joke, he keeps up with all the scores and his fave all-time player is Mal Meninga.

Remember he did play for Queensland in the mid-seventies and was exposed to the game during that time where he is said to follow the Valleys Diehards club in Brisbane.

Follow this one up it is true. The great man loves his league!!!

He'd make a great patron.

Most West Indians cricketers are familiar with the game as many have spent a lot of time in the UK.
