Wests Tigers are a disgrace

Benji Marshall can play for the Tigers this weekend apparently but not for NZ in a few weeks. The club has told the NZ selectors not to pick him. It was just in the news. On top of the Farah situation too. Scum.

Sheen was quoted only yesterday saying something like "I will never stand in anybody's way for Test football."

He said if BM plays the next two NRL games he'll be considered fit.

I think it's about time players who signed contracts decided to put a clause in it where if they are good enough to be picked, they can play rep football, if the club doesn't want that, too bad, don't sign them.

The player makes more money, so they'll like it, Rep footy gets its best players playing, The public loves it, the clubs have a stink, too bad, if you want the player, sign the contract.

They just had Benji on Channel Nine saying he wants to play for NZ. Hopefully that will seal it.

agreed, if benji was'nt such a biscuit boy and played every game of the season then i'm sure wests would be happy to send him off to the NZ test squad....


but knowing benji he's likely to injure himself getting on the team bus :lol:

If he's fit to play for Wests he's fit to play for NZ. If he gets hurt playing for NZ it's just bad luck. There's 34 players on the field in a tough game. Someone probably will get hurt. It happens.

Hmmm I wonder which club you support.
There's nothing official about a club telling selectors what to do because they have no right to do so, that's why it's such a stupid situation. It was on the Channel 10 News. It said Benji is fit but the Tigers have warned the Kiwi selectors off picking him and I totally believe the story after the Robbie Farah thing last year.

not really...iirc we played australia in a bi-centennial test in 1988 and if you'd forgotten when handed you a good hiding for your centenary tour.....so we've played in our fair share of centenary game pal...lol

If this is confirmed then we should do as I suggested when the Farah scenario came to light. Boycott Wests Tigers. Don't buy any of their merchandise or their sponsors goods/services and don't go to any of their home games. Hit them where it hurts.

benji marshall is always injured...let the poor sod get properly fit and properly match fit before sending him out in the NRL or test matches......personally i'd send him off to the jim beam cup or a country league somewhere before i let him near a NRL/test pitch..


i can see benji ending up like a english lad called ian knott,he always had persistent niggling injuries,some pretty serious ones too, but instead of getting them sorted properly (a) club used to pump him full of injections....now the lad can bearly walk...

The kid has played 5 minutes of footy all season, and he's being talked up for the New Zealand side, let him get another game or so under his belt before you decide whether he is ready or not, New Zealand have more than 1 5/8 to chose from.
