Wests Ashfield will take over the funding. They fund it now, so it's not a big ask. Wests Campbelltown will hopefully jump on board as there will be no more infighting etc. We wont be going to Perth

20000 fans - 100 bucks each makes $2 mil . Would it and could it happen.

Relocate us to Perth and I'll quit watching rugby league forever.

I said something similar when the Magpies ended...I thought I was finished, but after a couple of years I returned

A Perth move however would be much much tougher, I dont know how Id handle going to an occasional away game here in Sydney....I think a move like this would lessen my interest and support in the club, Id still watch games on TV though

Still...its the DT and they always portray everything as negatively as possible....would losing the South West catchment area be worth an attempt at relocatting a basket case to Perth, when they already have a very good bid/club in place that would surely generate more support there than a Sydney mess

It won't happen. The NRL can't walk away from the Southwest. Even if Balmain fold financially, the club will remain the Wests Tigers - the NRL will see to it. So management might change hands but the Wests Tigers will still be in Sydney.

I guess the question then will be - Then what? Balmain need to secure a revenue stream. Bailing them out may work as a 1 off, but how will they cover the next years funding? They really need a private investor to stay alive, someone who knows they are pumping money into a black hole (because rugby league clubs don't make money, leagues clubs do) but does it anyway for the love of Balmain.

I think that this is all a load of crap.

Wests Tigers to stay exactly as they are now. Balmain may not be able to pay their way onto the board but that is where it ends.

I dont think you can give much attention to that article today about relocating to Perth, when the DT fails to put a name to the Balmain figure the article loses all credibility,it even comes across as sounding like sour grapes from the so called Balmain figure.
Balmain have to get there sh*t together if they want to be involved in the WT which is only fair, while i doubt the West faction would ever consider vacating its heart land for WA.
