In your original post you stated the majority are still Balmain supporters...your speaking on behalf of a lot of people..I suppose theres no fans from the Wests side...or new fans completely in the last 4 years..........get off your high horse.

Maybe you & tugger will be happy when the NRL tell the JV Leichhardt is no longer acceptable....you wont have any pesky, heartless, soulless JV fans bothering you.

It defies credibility that WT has attracted more supporters in 4 years than Balmain has in 90 odd years. And your comment regarding "new fans" assumes I imagine that these supporters are not aligned to Balmain or Wests?

I made no mention of Wests other than its 50% ownership of WT, so with respect this is hardly relevant to this post.

You fail to appreciate that Balmain is my team and I support WT because Balmain owns 50% of that entity. As a consequence, any decision about relocation from Leichardt is a matter for the BRLFC not WT!

I'd say more then 50% of wests tigers supporter base would prefer Balmain to Wests tigers. Sure, that is at best a scientific guess, but more Balmain fans existed before the merger and considering the lack of success Wests tigers have had, I doubt there are many new supporters. As such, I still believe Balmain fans make up the majority of the merger.

There is no way wests tigers could survive without Balmain. As oro points out, wests tigers are dependant upon Balmain support. The 1.25 million contributed by Balmain leagues (and owned by btfc) would also make up a large portion of wests tigers funds. Sponsors have also been largely the work of Balmain and balmain's player Darren Senter. In 2000 meriton were sponsors, a carry over from the Balmain days and in 2002 new-loan were recruited by Senter.

Wests tigers is nothing without Balmain.

Max, you comments are laughable. When did i go into detailed facts about Wests games??????? I am sorry that the JV is your whole life, maybe you should have married king tigerman... what a perfect relationship.....

You have no basis of argument..... i meet plenty of people from all walks of life that say the followed Balmain Tigers DRLFC, but could not follow the merger as it was a disgrace. What is the unfortunate thing is that these people walked away from the game completely as they had to have Balmain in the top flight or nothing.

Western Suburbs on the other hand is a different matter. How many of your handfuls of fans actually walked away from the game? The reason is that they have been used to a club that was an absolute joke for the last 25 years, so the JV was an upgrade to you lot.

Any Western Suburbs fan that doesn' think that it was Balmain that threw the Magpies a lifeline by going into the JV must have lost their brain after too many moonshines.

It must be hard for you to admit it, but it is staring you and your fellow JV 'fans' in the face.

At the end of 1999, Western Suburbs had ZERO (0 or 0%) chance of being in the NRL.

In 2003 there would be no JV without Balmain, in 2004 there will be no JV without Balmain and so on and so on. Get over yourself & your Magpies, they got a great gift of charity in 1999 & they are still receiving it now.

Did someone say something about a $19,000,000 debt at Wests Ashfield??????? Self sufficient my @rse.

alao on balmain attendanes 1000 if theiyre luckt but in saying that it would be beter if they were higher (just as long as it isnt the same higher tuggers thinking bout)

no wonder why you have debt collectors around your house all the time

& yes wests has 0% chance of being in the nrl on their own in 99 pissbly it was more like 20% , balmains chances were higher

it is disappointing that balmain arent on their own what you should do is write ray beaatie a letter care of north sydney leagues thanking him for the fact balamin cant survive , i can move on pity you cant
