Don't worry about T-Ba and his Manly sidekicks. Over the past month whilst the rumours were strong that Tahu was going to Manly they were all creaming their pants over him but now that he's allegedly linked to Parra he's all of a sudden crap

I haven't. Monaghan is a far sight better than Tahu, who is a Winger and not a Centre. Check my posts for the last month if you must  . Wherever he plays, he'll be back in his precious No.2 within 5 weeks, because he simply lacks the defensive game of a centre.

RJ-Before Hicks got shoved into the centres, he was the NRL's leading Line breaker. The Price was certainly right in that regard.

Who's to say that we won't get both Tahu AND Monaghan. Don't forget that Grothe has played in the centres before and we still have freshy and wagon, who might be ready for a move back out wide.

Why are we wasting money on players from other clubs, where we could use this money to develop the youngsters.

I think we need props, backroweres and centres. We've got enough wingers.

Think about it. Who cares if Tahu is a winger or centre, if he comes to the Eels I will be excited. He is a great player. He has played for his NSW and for Australia. Maybe he isn't a perfect certainly not better then Lyon, but he is on the market.

Who would you prefer Luke burt in the centres or Tahu?

Why is every one so dispointed that we are trying to sign Tahu. If we have the money , lets chase him.

I think one of the problems currently with the eels is we lack that one or two special type of players. Tahu is certainly class.

Do you think Ben Smith is going to learn more from luke burt, ashley graham or mat peterson then what he will learn from Tahu.

Lets be positive , we would gain more from having Tahu, then not having him.

He's staying with the knights [-o<

His defence isn't that bad as you make out.

This year so far

8 appearances for 7 missed tackles.

Also he has scored 8 tries from as many games....and No JOHNS this season :p
Metres gained ........806
Average per game..107.6

Burt and I'm being serious...y? because Burt doesnt break with injuries all the time (last yr was different)

but Tahu spends more time on the sideline lately just like Johns

Everyone gets angry because our juniors (but now your all saying we need a player with class) go elsewhere but its because we buy other players to fill the gap and leave our juniors in Premier League no matter how good they play. We have a GREAT talent pool and we should learn to use it.

I thibnk Tim Tam is a bit overrated

he is definately a winger, not a centre

he let three tries in, in SOO 1

his ability to score tries is enhanced by Joey and Gidley and Co who continually set him up.

I've never seen him score a long distance try and beat a heap of opponents, like Guru does.

Which three tries?

He let Carlaw score when he dropped a bomb...

One try they were simply outnumbered in defence.

One was a chip through early in the tackle-count, where Tahu was positioned correctly.

And another one Slater scored straight down the middle when Fittler missed him.

That's 1 try due to Tahu, and it was off a bomb.

If you're looking for a long didtance try, watch the Knights vs Warriors game earlier this year. Tahu caught the Warriors kick-off and ran 80 metres to score.

I think you are being a bit harsh on him.

You can never win with Parramatta supporters. We go after Orford and people whinge, we sign Ridell and people whinge. I bet if we went after Andrew Johns or Darren Lockyer people would still find reason to whinge. "He's too old, too much money, injury prone".

I think at the moment this club needs a bit of change and the club is trying to provide that. Tahu is a one of the best finishers in the game and has won a premiership, won State of Origin series and played for Australia.

People say our biggest problem is our outside backs yet they criticise for spending too much money on outside backs. If it is our biggest problem why cant we spend alot of money fixing it? Would you rather we just stay 300K under the salary cap next season or have a guy that would probaly snare us at least 18 tries. In case you haven't seen there is not alot on the market this year so quality players will be in high demand and your gunna have to be competitive in your offers.

Have to agree Alex. Unfortunately due to our current dire situation we have to pay overs to attract quality players from other clubs. That is the reality. You can't just rely on juniors. We need to inject some representative quality players into our team ASAP. I just hope the club is also planning LONG TERM to make sure we can afford to keep the up coming stars (Tim Smith, Mateo, Ben Smith etc..) as well the most important player at our club....HINDY!

Well one BIG step in keeping Hindy is to have some quality contributing players around him - so I think buying some good players is a move towards keeping him.
