I would also add that if the stories concerning Benny's desire to be our next coach were in fact true then Donny Furner can live with the fact that his bother has the pulling power of a 90yo grandpa with arthritis ...

... we have the chance to gain the services of the most successful coach in the NRL and we say no thanks, we're going for an untried coach (who happens to be a member of the family).

FFS this club has huge problems ... and they all originate from the same source.

But yea, I'm just a whinger with no viable alternatives.

I agree bay. When people say we're being run by the Furner mafia, they aint kidding.

God I feel dirty. MANAGEMENT DO SOMRTHING GOOD SO I STOP AGREEING WITH BAY!!!

dont worry Timy I feel dirty posting some of the stuff

but really this club needs more than just a regular grease and oil change ... when you are accountable to your brother who is accountable to his father and friends who are accountable to no one of any particular address you can stick with the "I have faith in management" crew or ask some serious questiions.

I heard a whisper that Ryles is on his way to a Lime Green Jersey. Is this just a Dragons fan winding me up? Or is there some chance of it? I think I'd rather have Horse.

another raider who underachiever in canberra but will go on to play rep football i reckon. What is it with our club. Michael Robertson. Mark Bryant. Luke Williamson. Ben Cross. All nothing special here, but excel at other clubs

Ben Cross ill give you
Williamson is a nevelle and always has been, he is made to look alot better then he is, imagine Picker or Plum playing in a side with Kennedy, Menzies, Watmough, Stewart, Kite and Monaghan... they made him look good, Bryant is still a nuffy at Manly imo, and Robertson is abit different, he always did hammys here at the club and he seems to be past that and i still think the quality of player manly have make it easy for Robbo to look decent

Cross is the only one of those you mentioned that i think are better then our current crop

Cross has the same problem as Weyman: He's a thug. Both of them let their tempers get the better of them too often.

Williamson suffered at Canberra because we signed him, really, as a specialist goal-kicker and put him at centre, where he was never comfortable.

Bryant is a big basher of a player, and he's allowed to play well at Manly as he has a rep pack around him, he had to shoulder more responsibility with us and couldn't hack it.

Robbo had hammys like rubber bands in Canberra, but his problem was always he was a good finisher, nothing more. He's very like Colin Best, where a good centre inside him (which he has at Manly) makes him look five times better.

Ben Cross.

Honestly R69, you talk about the esteemed company of Manly players making ex-Raiders look good, well Cross had the same priviledge at Melbourne. I will admit that he played better because Bellamy got the crap out of his game: constant ball dropping and fighting everyone.

Hmmm. Sounds like Mick Weyman.....

IMO Ben Cross has turned the corner and turning into a fine front rower. I'd take him back any day.

I hope it is 130K with St George or the Botswana Stingrays, as long as it aint Canberra, piss him off now imo. I would think he was on about 200K with us a year, plus whatever he wanted at the gym's kiosk at Raiders HQ

We can't afford a player of his "calibre" on 500k a season

Weyman will be a big loss imo and come back to bite us on the ar*e. Has too much talent not to excel in the game.

Canberra forward Michael Weyman will join St George Illawarra at the end of the season after signing a two-year deal with the Dragons.

Weyman is currently serving a six-match ban for punching the Gold Coast’s Daniel Conn and has been hit by injuries during his career – playing just 43 games since his Raiders debut in 2003 – but Dragons chief Peter Doust said the prop will bring plenty of grunt to the St George Illawarra pack.

“Michael has shown plenty of promise in his short career in the NRL,” Doust said.

“Although he has had some injury concerns in the past we believe he will be able to produce his best football here at the Dragons.”

The 23-year-old said he was happy to have his future sorted out so early in the season.

“Next year will be a new challenge at the Dragons which I am sure will be good for me but it is a long way away and my focus is on training and playing well with the Raiders for the remainder of this season,” Weyman said.
