What I refuse to accept is the premise that the club can't process more than one thing at a time. At this point in time given our place on the ladder everythings a priority right now.

Hang on...

Is it being suggested the Doust looks after all the negotiations including the up and comers?

I can understand him being apart of the the big fish deals but the youngsters, surely he can appoint someone competent enough to handle these?

Is he seriously making the youngsters wait until the marquees are done??

Surely there's a summary of the forum discussions accessible to members or public SOMEWHERE?!?!?!

If Doust is taking on all negotiations, including youngsters, then that's fairly poor, why wouldn't we have someone on board to look after this?

I in all honesty don't know if Doust handles it all himself or not . It may be more relevant to the cap and how we fit people in . But hurry it along Saints. As to the info I have asked for more info from her on facebook . Given she's family to one of the board members and given my relationship with same . I may not get an answer. Will let you know.

We can't be sure of it but it sounds like it if he is saying that marquees are first priority.

geez I didnt realise these things were on, were they scheduled way ahead of time, or are they being held because of how we are travelling?

wouldnt want to be Dousty or Price tonight.

Credit the club to hold these forums at this time of frustration for us all.
Voice strongly our frustrations by all means but please no abuse.Read a tweet yesterday about a board member not happy with Price ,so it's not just us supporters concerned where we are at.

Have a word to her about her spelling too, Ted. I am appalled.

Now that I think about it, the club has actually been pretty good with locking up young talent. We've re-signed Garvey for 2 more years, we signed King before he made his first grade debut, we've got Crook locked up, I'm pretty sure Runciman is locked up, we've held onto guys like Stockwell, deBelin, Cummins, Quinlan etc...not doing too poorly in that department.

I imagine the original question had Hastings in mind - he has said he isn't making any decisions until after the National Schoolboys Competition, hence why we havent locked him up as yet...

deBelin is off contract next year, Cummins is off contract this year. They've both been held in very high regard coming through juniors (Cummins still qualifies for Under 20s) and we've held onto them thus far, I think they've made the transition from 'juniors' to members of first grade squad...

I'd be looking to upgrade debellin now!

I've heard he asked for a release to go to the Knights...

He's a gun, hits and runs like a tank!

That's all well and good but mate the club is terrible at predicting talent and even worse at attacting it. We want to win the NRL title, not the NSW cup or under 20s. Our first grade selections have been rubbish. The fact the clun had no half back plan or back up plan to Soward saga is ridiculous.

I understand why people are lashing out anywhere and everywhere at the mopment, considering our position on the ladder, but this is not true at all. The club gets it right more often than not on young players

Cummins off contract next year, not sure if it's an option either way.

I'd have to disagree; we havent really had a decent half through the ranks for a few years other than Beau Henry (who was let go by Bennett and has nothing sweet nothing since) and Kyle Stanley (who is injury-prone). Now we have 3-4 very promising young halves in the lower ranks and we are working to keep them around.

Agree that we arent the best at attracting talent, but the number of juniors weve had that make it through to our top squad shows that we can definitely predict and retain.
