I'm not a Raiders fan but what an effort. I think it desreves special mention.

They just tackled their backsides off, their defence was awesome.

I don't think I've seen anything like that for a while. They just scrambled and hung in for what seemed like the whole game.

If your team put that much effort in each week you'd have to be happy win lose or draw.

Their coach and players should be commended.

Thanks mate.

Their effort was sensational, they never stopped trying, one of the gutsiest performances ever considering our talent level and our best player, J. Smith, wasn't there. It was a great game, I feel sorry for the Cowboys as they played great too, but we deserved that one.

Such a tough team to beat and implement such a sensible, solid game plan week in, week out. Very impressive ;-)

Brilliant game. Raiders have proven they definitely won't be easy-beats this year.

proven we wont be easy-beats?
i might be biased but even at our lowest of lows, we have never been considered easy beats (1982 aside), you've always had to turn up against us ready to play, occasionally ya get lucky, we play rubbish and you stroll away with an easy win but we've never been a consistant easy beat ala souths, pre-2000 warriors, or pre-2003ish cowboys etc

They epitomise guts. They have done (generally) for the past 5 years. Hell in 2003 (?) they made the top 4 off sheer determination. Honestly if I didn't hate Canberra so much they'd be hard not to like. I was cheering for them tonight which I must say I found immensely surprising.

Bravo.

Agreed. Fabulous win by Canberra, and very gutsy. I admit I didn't rate them at all in the pre-season, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made the eight and did well in the finals.

i dont understand the raiders
ive seen em 3 times this season.
all at bruce
all shocking performances (against newcastle, bulldogs, cronulla)
on that form they are spoon worthy. the newcastle game was an embaressment, the dogs never had to get out of second gear and i dont know what they were doing in the first half against cronulla.

and yet, theyve won 5 games?
explain?

allow me to explain...
11 games, 1 bye for 12 rounds

5 wins, 6 losses
record during daylight - 0/4
record during night time - 5/7

no idea why... but thats the explaination
the good thing is if we can some how jag 6th/7th spot, we play a night game in week 1 of the finals, then if all goes to plan, we jag the friday night game in week 2, then hopefully again in week 3, and booyah - Sunday Night G/F!!!

Congratulations on the win first of all.

2nd of all the problem now is will the Raiders back it up and show some consistent form? They really need to make sure they win and win well against Souths to build some momentum.
