What about Ronald Prince?

Regardless of whether Tahu comes or not, there will be alot of competition for the right wingers jersey next year & I think alot of people have forgotten about Ronald Prince.

I think this guy has something special & I have no doubt he would have held onto a regular spot in first grade had he not gone down with a season ending knee injury so early in the year. I like him alot. He has that natural class about him that cannot be coached. When ever he's been given the call in first grade (both late last year and early this year) he's stepped up to the plate and delivered. He has excellent pace, good defence and is very reliable under the high ball as well as being able to cover all positions from 1-5 in the backline.

Here's a list of guys who will most likely be fighting it out for the No. 2 jersey next year. Who would you give first crack to?

Luke Burt
Ashley Graham
Ronald Prince
Brett Anderson
Matt Petersen
Matt Gruszka

I know there are alot of Luke Burt fans out there but my vote goes to Ronny Prince.

I like what I see of Prince....it's just that I have seen so little of him I can't give an educated opinion. He certainly looked good against Penrith in the last round of 2003.

Burty would have to be at the top of the list but maybe we can give Brett a go. ..he is a Queenslander after all!!

Sideshow has a lot of mongrel in him that gives as good as he gets. Public opinion on this forum would suggest that the fire in his belly makes up for his lack of talent. I thought last year he looked to be a good finisher and knew his way to the line.

I think Ash Graham, currently, is severely down on confidence. I'm sure he has last years injury on his mind in every tackle he is involved in. He can't hold the pill if his life depended on it at the moment.

In the few games Ive seen Prince play for Parramatta he's been impressive, its a shame he got injured and is out of the season, I wouldve like to see more of him. Good attacking player.

Prince was looking real good this year, shame he was hurt.

He is going to have to earn his spot back though, which hey, thats great for competition

Gruzka- Get to a Premier league game and watch him go. I can't believe he wasn't elevated ahead of Andersen. Here's a guy who could go to another club and kick on...he's strong, busts tackles, and is very quick.

Obviously he's lacking something cause he hasn't got a look in in the First grade side but I haven'r spotted the weakness yet.

Gruska's a good player, but dont be surprised if another club poaches him.
This is the reason we shouldnt really buy Tahu, because we've got plenty of young centres and wingers coming through and theyve got a future here at Parramatta.

Prince had a season-ending knee injury... usually takes players quite a while to get back to top form after that, especially those that rely on speed.

Tahu has a future here as well.

He is what....23? He has got his best footy ahead of him. And is is a proven test and origin player....a consistent try scorer and clearly better than what we have.

So why would we want him?

He's winger for starters,

Q. Are we looking for wingers?
A. No

Q. Do we need wingers?
A. No

Q. Why not?
A. We've got plenty coming through the ranks at Parramatta and some of them could be future rep players.

Q. What are we looking for then?
A. We dont have to go after so many big name players, the positions we're struggling at the moment are props, centres and backrowers (apart from Hindmarsh). We've already solved our hooker problem with Riddell for next year, we need to buy a good consistent prop forward, and good quality centre, and maybe another backrower.

Q. Why not buy Timana Tahu, he's a good quality player?
A. He is a good player, yes. But if we buy him we're gonna pay him a lot of money which leaves other back stranded in reserve grade, not getting a go and dont have a future at Parramatta. They'll turn out to be successful elsewhere and Tahu will be a dud. Personally I dont rate him at all, he's no good without Gidley, Johns and Buderus.

paying over market value for a hooker who will bring a lot to this club in terms of kicking, speed/creativity around the ruck, leadership and enthusiasm is one thing, but a winger? lol

i personally believe our backs are much better than their play indicates. they are constantly outnumbered in defense due to our shoddy system more than anything else and they suffer from our lack of creative halves and wide offloading forwards in attack. i like prince. he and langi had something good going on for a while

He wants 400k thats a joke, for a winger.

He's not that good in the centres anyway.

Q. Are JessEel and Half right?
A. Yes, we dont need him.

Q. Are JessEel and co kidding themselves that our backline is loaded with talent?
A. f**king Oath!!!

Graham, Burt, Petersen and co are crap- three of the worst backs in the NRL.

The only backs we currently have with any sort of futures are Wade, Grothe, and possibly Andersen and Gruzka.

Burt is not overated.

The backs with a good future are:

McKinnon
Anderson
Ben Smith
Gruzka
Petersen
Grothe
Burt
Reddy

anymore I have missed out on???

there's Ronald Prince who's currently injured, then Luke O'Dwyer who can cover the centres position. Also Langi might still be here next year.

Dont tell we're not loaded with talent??? :D
