Honestly, don't know how you can live in China Mis. I've been throughout Asia (mostly SE Asia tbh) and China is the last country I would return to.

Then again, there is a HUGE difference between the Cantonese areas and the Mandarin areas. Cantonese regions I liked, but the rest was a dump. In the north I would of killed many government officials for real bacon and sausage! Though there is a very good brewery in Shanghai just off the Bund.

I definitely preferred living in South Korea. The food was generally better, the social life was a lot more vibrant, and the culture was more accepting of the western world. Nanjing (which is blessedly close to Shanghai) is a nice spot, but it's still about ten years behind much smaller Korean cities. The food here 'ain't a patch on other regions of China, unfortunately.
