Enough with the piss jokes. The issue here is assault (4-on-1, at that), not urinating in public.

well this was 5 on 3 and Mitchell still pissed himself

It's been deleted, but there was a "piss in your mouth for Todd Carney" page on facebook that was populated with pictures of people doing just that. Maybe there was a Qlder or two in there, but the fair assumption is that most of them were Cronulla and NSW fans.

So I think we can call it even.

But on a serious note this could prove to be a very interesting case.

So far what we've learnt is that the photo was taken in a public toilet by a 'mate'. His mate then claimed that his phone was stolen and the photo was uploaded by someone else. In the meantime Carney's 650K contract was torn up for bringing the game into disrepute.

There are quite a few legal implications for this. The photo was taken in a toilet where you have a reasonable expectation of privacy, I'm assuming Carney consented to the photo being taken but if not it's a criminal matter. If he did consent to it then there would have been an implied agreement between Carney and the photographer for keeping these photo's out of the public eye. The photographer has said that it was a third party who uploaded the image but if he's lied about this it could result in a civil law suit. However if it does prove to be a third party who did steal the phone then there are criminal and civil lawsuits that could be headed in the way of whoever did it. Either way Carney should not have been fired. In all 3 scenarios Carney was the victim of civil and/or criminal matters and he may be able to take action against the Sharks for this.

There is another theory where some are claiming that he did it on purpose to get out of his contract with the Sharks so he can link with Flannagan in the super league. A case could be made here for fraud and Carney could possibly face a jail sentence.
