Anyone here ever played the Elders Scrolls 4 Oblivion ? I must say that I'm enjoying not being incredibly OP like I was in skyrim, although i do miss my two 540+ damage glass bows (1 with 29 points dual shock + frost damage and the other with fire+soul trap+shock). And i also miss the dragons, but its quite a good game that I'm really enjoying so far.

The main quest line is A LOT harder so I recommend doing that later until you've got your archery and one-handed and armour skills waaay up high. Those flame atronachs are a biatch ... took about 20 shots to bring one down, and my archery level is at 54, light armour at 55 and one-handed at 46. Currently at level 10.

Good fun :D

540 damage !!! Reals?

Yep. I went the light armour/weapons way in order to carry more loot and make more money in order to buy more training. Plus i spent a lot of time collecting ingredients to make money-making potions to afford a shit-ton of training. You don't need to spend any money on alchemy training though as making so many potions to make lots of money bumps your alchemy up to 100 in no time. Also another piece of advice, when you get enchanted weapons or armour or equipment or whatever, disenchant EVERYTHING in order to learn as many enchantments as possible. You make more money from good potions anyway, and its important to disenchant the crap out of everything to bump up your enchanting skills ASAP.

You need alchemy, enchanting and smithing and archery at 100, plus certain archery, alchemy and enchanting.perks maxed out. Plus you need 4 pieces of equipment enchanted each for archery (helmet, gauntlets, necklace, ring with fortify archery enchantment on each), and smithing (gauntlets, armour, necklace, ring with fortify smithing enchantment on each) ... put them on, take a fortify smithing potion, and then improve your glass bows to legendary, which is 300+ ... with the archery gear on when you start fighting, the damage goes up to about 540+), But i also have 4 pieces of alchemy gear (helmet/hat, armour/shirt, necklace, ring with fortify alchemy enchantment on each) as well to make smithing and enchanting potions that are incredibly powerful ... they help enormously with improving weapons and armour, plus their enchantments too. Btw when you enchant your archery, smithing and alchemy gear make sure you take a fortify enchanting potion before you enchant each item and i only ever use grand or black soul gems.

My fortify smithing potions are made with blisterwort + glowing mushroom
Fortify enchanting are made with blue butterfly wings + snowberries

Before tackling a dragon or boss i recommend glugging down a fortify marksman potion (elves ear + juniper berries). This REALLY bumps up your bow damage even more to +130%.
Also take a resist fire and frost potion (mine are at 97% resist with my alchemy gear lol) which is made from dragons tongue + snowberries + purple mountain flower.

Actually i think my bow damage goes up to over 730 damage(could possibly be more, haven't worked it out yet lol) with the fortify marksman potion, but i really only use them for bosses and revered dragons.

That is awesome. Imagine coupling that with 100 sneak or invisibility potion. The ultimate death that comes from nowhere.

The best thing about this game is the multitude of characters you can build up.

Yep actually getting sneak up to about 50 is more important than getting archery to 50 imo. Sneak was the first thing i spent money on with training. I got it up to 40, then after that concentrated on archery training. Yeah next play through(after oblivion hehe) i might go the heavy armour route. That daedric armour looks so sweet lol. Plus i want to see how much bow damage i can get using daedric bows with the daedric smithing perk.

Funnily enough, my smithing perks only go up to dragon armour as I chose the left hand path for light armour and weapons. When you don't have that daedric smithing perk checked, you can improve glass bows far more than daedric bows (only go up to 400 damage max). I want to see how much it goes up to when you go the right hand path and get daedric smithing lol.

I'm a bit of a bash and slash type player. I have 100s in one handed, light armour, lock picking, pick pocket, illusion, and enchanting. I'm close to 100 in heavy armour and blocking. I can carry 660 so I'm a hoarder. I have three houses. And I now have been able to tame dragons which is super sweet.

I was watching my niece and getting annoyed because where she was I'd just slice them up. She's fire balling them and has smithed incredible weapons. She's also doing missions I haven't even come across. Her methods of course were very effective.

Great game. The variety is the jewel here.

Yeah I've got one-handed and block up to 100 as well. I had more fun getting my sword skills up than I did archery. When you learn to block every attack, then attack yourself its just so much fun. You must be a pretty high level to have both light and heavy armour so high up. What level are you ? Im about 62 or 63 but seem to have run out of missions, which is why I'm trying Oblivion now. I've done Dark Brotherhood, Companions, College of Winterhold, Main questline, Stormcloak rebellion, the Miraak one on Solstheim, Dawnguard, Thieves Guild. Are there others to do ? I have legendary edition and playing on master difficulty btw. I have over 3 million gold too lol.

Level 67. Playing on adept level.

I've got about 15 main quests to go. TBH I've spent a lot of time doing side quests.

Just picked up a Dremora Butler to carry my things. Lol. This game is awesome.

PES 2017

Got it today and enjoyed it. Took a bit to get the hang of though after playing FIFA games since 2000. Anfield looks beautiful in the game.

Also got Battlefield 1 today. Just under 5gb of updates to download before I can play it though So I'll give it a run tonight when the kids have f**ked off to bed.

People were talking about football manager earlier in the thread. Now I used to just leave it running so the figure will be inflated but according to steam on football manager 2012 i have played 1574 hours. I think Crewe Alexandra are a pretty fun team to play as if anyone is starting a new game. They have good youth systems for a smaller side and this goes into the later FM games too. So if you like to develop players its a fun one. I had a player in my FM12 game become English captain and he came through my systems when I was in the championship. Good games

The game I am playing literally right now (well about to) is papers please. That game is the best. You play a border guard in some fictional communist place. I find it oddly soothing.

I love the FM type of games. Currently playing FM16
The downside of my real life team (Huddersfield Town) is that we exceeding expectations and possibly will be playing in the greedy league next season. For that reason, I'm afraid to actually play as them in case I don't live up to real life

I'm still playing my original save, where I started out with the lowest qualifications possible and applied for any opening. I signed with Accrington Stanley in League 2. In my first season, I guided them to the play-offs, but lost before the final. In my second season, we won promotion through the play-offs (I think), I'm now in my third season and in League One, I'm currently 17th with about 13 games to go. I think I'm battling to avoid relegation at this stage as it's tight, but if I can keep my position in League One, then from next year, I can look at mounting a play-off challenge.

Amazon delivered Horizon: Zero Dawn about 2 hours ago. Played about an hour, holy shit it's a beautiful game, best I've seen on PC or console. Don't really have any thoughts on it just yet as it's mostly been cut scenes and tutorial style play, but if the gameplay is even remotely close to the clear level of production quality elsewhere I think I'm going to enjoy the ride.

Yeah it's an awesome game, I think my play time was about 250 hours into that thing all up. Then I had a kid, it'll take me a year to finish Horizon now hah

Horizon is the best game I've played for a long time. I'm playing on hard and you get wrecked by even the horse machines if you get overly cocky.

I wish Witcher 3 had monster fighting combat as good as this. Witcher was awesome and one of my top five games ever but the combat could be clunky.

Agreed, I've managed to put about 10-15 hours into it now. The Glinthawks are infuriating if you don't manage to spot them, especially when taking on some other enemies.

If Horizon had the Witchers quest design and writing, it'd be the best game ever. The combat is amazing, the voice acting and dialogue is hilariously bad at times, yet I don't care because the story / lore behind it actually is pretty cool up to this point. I love how there is no hand holding when it comes to the combat, and if you're intelligent with how you approach encounters, you can beat anything irrespective of your level.

If I have one major criticism it is that the crafting and modification system is a little half baked, it just becomes an unnecessary burden without having any real depth to make it interesting.
