Prescott still hopes to play game again
STEVE Prescott, who retired earlier this month through injury from a Super League contract at Hull FC has not completely thrown the towel in on his playing career.
Now back at the family home in St Helens, Prescott has hinted that he does not want to leave the game and especially the playing side.
"I have played the game almost all my life and had it not been for this injury I would still be playing," he said.
"I don't want to give it up and if two, three or six months down the line I can play again at some level then I'll be delighted.
"I would eventually like to go into coaching in some way. I want to stay in the game and I know I have a lot to offer and a lot of experience and knowledge to pass on having played at the top level.
"But I have to say the finality of it all hasn't quite sunk in yet and I haven't made any decisions.
"I have no arguments with Hull, they have been terrific throughout and have stood by me. They could have got rid of me after six months, but they didn't, they stuck with me because they wanted to see Steve Prescott back on the playing field.
