Hooked and he was doing a fairly good job in a position he doesn't play.

Wagon should be hooked permanently.

I thought he was out of his depth. His passing was good however he looked lost and didn't look capable of taking any sort of control. Yes, he doesn't normally play at hooker however he does play a lot of his football out of dummy half. I would have preferred to see him take the field at 6 or 7 and Smith probably should have started him there however whatever position he started in he should been able to make a fair fist of it. It is very unlikely that two minutes before the game started that he would have been told thats where he was playing - he would have at least trained there most of the week to have pushed Morris to the bench. Regardless of where he played if he was going to make an impact he should have been able to - Dykes and Morris start most of our attack from the same position.

Thorman hadn't played a game in two weeks and Smith used him terribly. I reckon he would've had no idea if he was even starting after last week.

He got an opportunity that he failed to capitalise on. If he was as good as everyone has believed he was he would have grabbed it with both hands. He needs time to develop. Halfback, five eight and hooker aren't that different anymore. Yes he would have never played that position fifteen years ago however just about every hooker in the comp has played the majority of their early football in the halves. He was out of his depth.

I think that's a bit harsh on Thorman.
Smith gives all his other experiments time.
Lets see if Thorman gets the same priviledge. And for ***** sake, play him in his correct position. Stop playing your stupid, stupid games Smith

It was a big game for the lad. At least he had a go, and showed some passion. He attempted things. He doesn't lack confidence, and I like that.

I'd say he did as instructed and Smith had some kicking plan in mind. When it didn't work he hooked him.

failed to capitlise on?? he did his best in the little time he did have on the field in his first grade debut what was he ment to??? if he wasnt held bask after putting that kick in the in goal and he had put the ball down on the dead ball you would be praising him not saying he was out of his depth like dykes wagon and co the limited opertunity he received he did well in my books...

I stand by what I said. It wasn't a good experiment however and yes Smith has to take some blame as he started him in that role. He would have been better used off the bench in the same role if thats what Smith really wanted from him but I still think he needs more time.

I agree, and yes have defended Petersen on a few occassions and think he needs to be playing PL as well. Sure he can score a try however he has let in too many now this season.

If Thorman is a halfback then thats where he should play - Dykes is in that position at the moment and should keep it as he is our best option in attack at the present - so he too should be back in PL.

I think that Langi and Peek should accompany the as well.

Everyone else on here has their opinion and has expressed it in recent weeks and this is mine......

I think Thorman needs to be blooded slowly into First Grade. He has been killing it in Divy which is basically the equivilant to the English Comp. Gunna take him a while to adjust to the faster pace of Grade I think. Hopefully he will get there.

When he was hooked, was he going into dummy half or was he a receiver?

To my memory he was playing less dummy half dykes was, so Dykes was named at Half and Played Hooker, where Thorman was named hooker and played half.

Last weeks biggest problem was enthusiasm and we lost that when Peek lost the pill on our own 20 meter line on the 2nd tackle of the game. Then after a decent defensive effort Grothe was out played for the ball.

Everything from the first half went down from there.

So what is the point in doing that. Less trickery and more passion

So, things didn't go our way in the first two sets of six tackles, and that was our biggest problem.??

That is lame Mark. Come on mate, you are more diligent and observant than to make comments like that.
Our biggest problem was in the dressing rooms before we ran out onto the field.
Its called instilling passion into our team.

And it's obvious that it is not happening.

Its the coaches responsibility to instill passion and spirit.........that was nowhere to be seen. That loss hurt more than the GF that we lost. Just because of the way we played.

But I don't know that for sure suity.

I wasn't in the Dressing room, neither were you from reading your comments (watching both games on fox, not that there is anything wrong with that)

Sure things may not have been right coming out of the rooms but they were exacerbated, by the stupid mistakes.

If the eels cut down on the stupid mistakes, we might be able to mount some pressure and look like a better football team. Silly handling errors have put pressure on ourselves.

Apart from the first game we have done a better job of scrambling defence, but some set defence is just poor.
