what happened to thorman

Thorman didn't deserve to be hooked. However, Morris ignited the Eels far better when he was on.

The question is, why not start with Morris at hooker in the first place? Why bench him with a pommy 5/8? Why not start with Thorman at 5/8 (where he has more time to kih than at friggin dummy half).

Colonel got it wrong. Thorman DID grab the opportunity. BUt it was a poisoned chalice. Hooker? requires a completely different set of ball skills - passing off the ground for one. The defence you face (eg 2 markers) is different to. It's also a hell of a lot busier in defence.

Thorman didn't sparkle at hooker, but he did enough to make me salivate if we ever see 6 Thorman 7 Dykes 9 Morris play this year. Smith made the comments in the off season that the half and 5/8 need to drive the forwards. What drive does bloody Wagon poess that itt or Thorman doesn't?

"Stormin' Thorman" didn't get a fair go. When he was on, he showed plenty of flair and poise - for instance, the try he NEARLY scored. A nearly perfect grubber on the first catching the opposition sleeping and nearly scoring. Smart play.

He was pretty good in the first 30 - the only time he was given.

But we should have started with Thorman at 5/8, Morris at hooker and Wagon at lock with Widders on the bench.

I don't know what inspired Brian to play two locks but it isn't working.

Where's my proof? Here:

* Playing two locks we haveonly a 50% win ratio

* That INCLUDES the Sharks and Cowboys, games we SHOULD have EASILY won, but didn't

* Sometimes we look flat in attack; with all the defending Morris does and all the attacking Dykes does, I believe we need a third wheel to even things out a bit or chip in with more attack or more defence; clearly the purely defensive option in Wagon isn't very effective
