What happens if it's still a draw?

If they replay, both coaches should be replaced by their predecessor for the replay. Dessie can be dragged kicking and screaming back over the spit bridge. The Roosters. of course, would be coached by Brian Smith.........

I went to the Sharks V Manly and the Parra V St George drawn GF's.

Both of those games were played on the next Tuesday.

Should really be played the next Sunday for teams to be recharged.
The '77 replay was the following Saturday.

The '78 replay had to be played on the Tuesday because the Kangaroos were flying out for England later that week.

Two lots of extra time (5 mins each way as per usual golden point) and then the same again.

If its still a draw, then I believe it one of the following two options

1) rematch in a week
2) the team with the better premiership record for the season is deemed the winner, if they are equal, then it goes to points differential, then tries scored.

You know what, I like the fact that Golden Point has been scrapped, but I don't like the new system.

The old system should apply:
  • Extra time (not golden point)
  • 2 x 10 minute halve, making it a 100 minute game
  • If the scores are still tied after 100 minutes, we go into unlimited sudden death extra time, first point scorer wins!

Your right there Whoosh...I stand corrected.

The reason why I though it was a Tuesday replay was because Peter Sterling played for Parra for the 1st time at fullback and I thought that game was on a Tuesday...see what time does to you?

Thanks for the info. Do you know who decides which option to take?

Disappointed it hasn't been done yet:

And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

I came into this thread just to make sure it had been done.

The NSW cup a few years ago played GP extra time then they played until someone scored. No replays. That is what I think they would do.

I think a measure of Occam's Razor should apply.

Simply put, just stick to the method that the players are used to playing under in the competition rounds.

A few years ago in Rugby, one particular game in England still finished a draw in extra time, they went for a goal shoot out.

Perhaps the opposition team should chose the goal kicker, ie .Roosters pick George Rose.

Symonds would be a worse kicker than Big Georgie. Something sort of ganglier, taller, I could just imagine how awkward his attempt would be. But George I can see gathering his bulk, pausing, and then toe poking the shit out of it in a straight line all the way across the black dot.

If its a draw both captains have to race Manighar over 2400m at Caulfield whilst being ridden by there respective coaches
