What is this cryptic statement?

People are reading all sorts of things into this press release, but to me it reads as if the board will be working with Potter to give him the support staff he needs to succeed, rather than Sheens era flotsam. Obviously they can't say they give Potter their full support because that is construed as a death knell for coaches.

What did Georgallis do wrong? The guy was very well liked at the Panthers by the players and i thought he was only sacked because Gould wanted Cleary for ages. Figured he would be liked here too.

2 players were signed by potter 24 hours ago. Potters comments in the press yesterday suggest he was given the power to sign Austin and Patterson. He cannot be given the all clear to announce the signings and then be given the arse.

Farah is pulling the strings here. In the triple m interview he says 'micks had a tough year' but he doesn't say anything like 'he's got our support.'

From a business perspective it's embarrassing to consider paying three coaches next year.
I would like to know what former abc weatherman mike bailey has in terms of business knowledge?

Whatever the outcome these developments are a clear sign that the nrl needs to step in and break up these antiquated board structures that serve no purpose other than to de-stabilise clubs like WT which should otherwise be flourishing thanks to a great crop of young talent

Some of our senior players are in for a hell of a shock when they eventually retire and move out in the real world. Imagine having to work for a boss you dont like.

The club should have squashed all this months ago and showed Potter plenty of support and told the playing group to ship up or ship out. Imagine Wayne Bennett reaction if he was white anted by the players.

The damage being done to the club in the last 48 hours is massive, the boardroom and the senior players should all be put on notice, this should have been delt with behind close doors and swiftly

I love Farah as a player but I tell you what, if he is responsible or involved in this, it's a really poor reflection on him. Who knows.

My issue is, Potter was obviously given free reign in terms of who he wants in the squad next year, yet now they are going to punt him? Then we have the same issue next season: a coach with someone else's team.

It's a joke.

Farah has been doing a lot of media about this whole potter saga...

His use of words are interesting when describing the situation. Now if the papers are true in that they are looking to install Payten as head coach (even if temporary - and have him as assistant coach next year) it will at least be an old part of the boys club running part of the show, which i am not keen about.

As an aside, I was one of those unlucky people to go up to the gold coast game and watch us 'play'. On the way home at the airport our flight was was just after the Tigers flight. I saw heaps of people come up and talk to potter for as long as they want, he did not try and leave and would talk as long as someone wanted. From and external point of view his communication skills seemed fine...

Farah's quotes aren't great. He's either involved in the revolt up to his eyeballs, or he already knows that Potter is a dead man walking (or possibly both).

Farah is a champion player and true competitor.
As a person he is a egotistical f**kwit and always has been

The first thing Cleary did when he went to Penrith was break up the boys club and cut out the cancerous elements. It didn't make him particularly popular with the playing group at the time but the board and CEO backed him all the way and, as a result, the club is in a far stronger position now than it was 12 months ago, despite losing two of its most popular and dextrose players.
For mine, Potter is trying to do the same as Cleary: breaking up the boys club, cutting out the cancer and building a new culture, one of hard work and accountability. I sincerely hope that the Tigers board look at the bigger picture here rather than caving to player pressure; with their track record, however, I'm not at all confident.

True, but you would think that they would also add that he had decided to leave the club at the end of the year if that was the case

IMO you guys are reading way too much into what Farah said.

Had to laugh when the article said Roach may be the new forwards coach. wtf?

Feel for you guys. Jobs for the boys culture holds clubs back.

My club is the absolute laughing stock of the NRL.
I dont think ill be supporting anyone next year. AFL is looking the best option.
