Watched Stand By Me the 80s Rob Reiner movie..

Honestly didn't think it was that great, it's got a massive cult following and everyone always says what a great film it is.

Without having read the book I think they could of developed the characters much more, it wasn't an overly long film so no excuse there.

The young kids were great talents though, what a waste with River Pheonix throwing his life away and even Corey Feldman and the path he went down, surprised me how talented he was at that age.

I haven't watched Stand By Me since I was in high school myself, so I'll probably be one of those people in the "it's so great" category (at least it was when I was closer to the age of the characters by a couple of years rather than a couple of decades!).
We actually have this in our extended VHS collection so will have to pull it out for a nostalgic viewing.

It's based on a short story so I guess they can be forgiven a little bit for not fleshing out characters, having said that Shawshank Redemption was also in the same collectino of short stories, which is pretty good in that regard.

Watched "Run All Night" the other day with couple of mates (got to the cinema late, was between that, Focus or Chappie) - turns out to be pretty much the opposite of Taken, in that Liam Neeson's character is the dad being chased to protect his son rather being the chaser. Not brilliant but fun enough to kill 90-odd minutes with some classic Liam Neeson badassery.

The Water Diviner.

Thought it was extremely well done. And great to see things from the Turkish side a bit more too.

Only fault I have with it was Russell Crowe.

Road Hard.

For someone who is always complaining about cliché movies and comedies that aren't funny Carolla delivers a very cliche and unfunny movie.
