What should our expectations be after 6 rounds?

How many games do we need to win for this to be considered a successful start to the season?

Issue we have now is other teams smell blood in the water. Both the Titans and Eels have started less than ideally, but certainly won't be scared coming over to NZ and I have no doubt see us as 2-point fodder if they aim up. And honestly, the way we look, there's 14 teams who if they aim up are better than us. That's scary.

I have no doubt we'll have another mid-year resurgence, but there's simply no excuse for starting a season this way - and we been abysmal, no mistake, for a reality check we just need to see what happened to Newcastle (who we struggled to beat) and the Dogs this weekend - we've had (IMO) a good draw (again) to start the season and are at the bottom of the table

There seems to be a real lack of mental toughness.
If these problems aren't showing up at training, eg drop balls. Then it comes down to not handling pressure!
When the going gets tough a lot of these guys check out!

Assuming Cleary gets the Wests gig I will watch with interest - look to be plagued by the same sorts of issues

The job interview may as well be conducted Moses, Brooks, Tedesco and Woods. Theyre a good side but potential coaches will be wary of the portrayed control these guys seem to have. Its like that movie 'Children of the Damned' over at West Tigers.

Has anyone played the NRL video game? If so, if you choose the Warriors as your team, do you get Lolohea going with Johnson in broken play? Can you get Johnson to take the defence on before it's 'game over'? Can you get Luke a bit busier around the park? Can Roger tackle as last line of defence? Can Lisone have a football brain?...

If so, the virtual world might be better than the real thing.

(I was going to add whether there was an option to delete Charlie Gubb pre-game. However, I've softened on him over the last couple of games. As pointed out by posters, at least he's trying).

I initially wanted 4 wins but I will settle for the 3 that we have.

That doggies game really hurts, was definitely winnable.

What should be our target for the next 6?

I'm more relieved than happy with 3-3. Like you I wanted 4.

Given our draw over the next 6 weeks (Raiders Storm Roosters Panthers Dragons Broncos), I'll be happy with 3... 2 would be ok, I guess, provided we kick on after that.

The toughest looking part of our draw is in our immediate future.

Good lord! Looking at that draw we could well be 4 out of 12 and season over. That's a bit of a worry.

We've beaten the 3 teams who will most likely finish in the bottom 8, and lost to 3 that might be in the 8. Some big scalps are required in the next 6 weeks to think it's any different.

I was thinking about the whole luck thing eg hitting a team on an off day, say like what I saw on Manly on weekend. Some may say Cowboys this weekend as well.

I know in some respects you make your own luck.
But we hopefully come up a few teams In the Next few weeks on an off day.

We make less mistakes against Dragons and have Foran it may have been different?

Anyway 2 out of 6.

When does origin start to bite these teams?

You still have to remember that 3 from 6 is a poor return when you have played 4 games at Mt Smart, 1 at a neutral ground and only 1 in Australia. Plus we now have an all Kiwi spine.
The rest of the season will be more brutal.

3 is a disappointment but not a massive one. In hindsight 4 would've been a good result- we should've beaten the Dogs, that was a missed opportunity. The Storm are the Storm and the Dragons are much better opposition than we were anticipating at the start of the year, particularly at Kogarah with Foran dropping out at the last minute.

I saw a lot more sticking to the process evident against the eels. That's not a bad thing. We closed the game out pretty professionally I thought.
