What those advocating afl style expansion don't want u to know

Have you told your CEO Jeff Reibel this? He seems to think they travel long distances

“Seven of our 12 home games are set for the Saturday afternoon or evening timeslots at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, which is a great result for our committed fan base who travel further than any other in the NRL,” Cowboys CEO Jeff Reibel said.

No one said Cowboys don't travel long distances. I said it's unrealistic to expect people who live 2 or 3 hours away to regularly attend games. They might make it to 2 or 3 games a year. Maybe four. The rest of the support comes from Townsville. Especially on a Thurs/Fri night.

There is no need to in Sydney that is the thing

There will be when the suburban dumps are shut down, as they're not going to get millions of dollars spent on them to be brought into the 21st century. V'landys was delusional to think tax payer money would be spent on Shark Park when it's privates owned by the Sharks.

Sponsors don't want to pay big money to saddle up with clubs playing at run down dumps.

Cronulla's appeal is NOT limited to the LGA with the corresponding name.

I mean does that mean Arsenal fans can only be those that lived in Woolwich in the 1800s eventhough the team is now based north of the river? Or West Ham is only for East London fans that live in that specific borough?
Do you have any evidence to support this claim?

Home games for Cronulla that have been played at the SFS and Kogarah drew woeful attendances.

How do you explain their sponsorship deals being so poor?

The corporate sector has a strong grasp on how many people support each club. There's a reason they pay $12.7m to the Broncos, $8.9m to the Cowboys, $10m to the Dolphins, $6m to the Panthers, $4m to the Sharks and $3.6m to the Bulldogs. It's not a conspiracy against the Sydney clubs. It's the market paying clubs what they're worth based on how many people support them.

@Perth Red showed how much money the Panthers generate from sponsorship. It's just $6m with the best team the country has seen in decades. But you ignore the total amount and post irrelevant bullshit about 100 companies paying little on this club.

You keep on waffling about the broadcast rights, even though @Perth Red and @The_Wookie have debunked your crazy claims.

You're not very bright, that's for sure.

Somebody throw in the towel

Yes, you and your mate should quit. The evidence doesn't support the laughable claims you both throw around.

What year are these figures sourced from? And what is the year on year trend for this sponsorship?

I mean by your logic, the Bulldogs have less supporters then any club in the NRL, which is patently ridiculous.

People don't support a club purely based on what Council name is on there rates notice.
Most of Cronulla's supporter base is from the Sutherland Shire. Probably less than 2% of their supporters have no connection to Sutherland, but they're not attending games due to the tyranny of distance.

If the club has so much support outside of Sutherland then why not relocate them to Adelaide or Perth?

Their Sydney-based fans will still have plenty of opportunities to see then in Sydney.

At the very least the club could become the Sydney Sharks or Southern Sydney Sharks an play all of its home games at the SFS. The fact its fans throw a tantrum whenever this is suggested proves they don't have much of a supporter base outside of Sutherland.

You do realise Leagues club side of these clubs are huge?

The indoor Skydiving at Panthers pays rent, As does Outbacks, KFC etc.

This time next year the 1000 person Conference Centre owned by the club. Above that will be a 2nd hotel on the land - This one they will run themselves

We paid for the Academy ourselves

own 4 other clubs
And are building a shopping Centre once it passes DA...

But hey yes lets focus on the $6m sponsorship ( which is good for cash flow)

Based on one Covid affected year.

Is that enough data to make such sweeping changes?
I've compared pre-COVID vs post-COVID in other threads.

Here's the reports.

P29.

$4m last year and $2.77m in 2020.

In 2018 and 2019 it was $6.1m and $5.6m. That's before COVID-19 and still well down on what Cowboys generate in a regional city of just 180k.

The argument on this board by NSWRL troglodytes such as yourself for having nine clubs in Sydney and none in Adelaide and Perth is they have a massive national profile in Australia's richest city.

Broncos got $12.7m last year and Dolphins will get $10m next year. There are people on here who think Brisbane doesn't have enough commerce to support a second side. 😂

If that's the case then all nine Sydney clubs should be making more than $15m in sponsorship, yeah?

The fact they don't get anywhere close to the Cowboys' $8.9m in 2021 means the idiots who carry on about how well supported and rich the Sydney clubs are don't know shit.

Cowboys $8.9m but how much assets?

The rich idiots are too busy building assets here, Hell Canberra are richer than GC and Cowboys due to assets
