What was the point of picking DCE

Just bloodin him again. He is the future test half. Thurston isn't all that young and Cronk can move to 5/8.

Would not surprise me to see him on the bench for QLD. Everyone has a hard on for this fellow.

Cronk and Thurston are the same age.

With the way the game was going, I probably wouldn't have used him either

You can't blame the coach for him not playing as the Kiwis were in the game the whole time

Would you have substituted anyone on the field for him?

Him being there in the first place is another matter. Does Sheens pick the team?

Of course.......it's the ONLY reason.

Sheens is a boob.......but pulling off either Smith, JT or Cronk and sticking in a rookie half like DCE when the game was for the most part, hanging in the balance, would be enormous stupidity even for the likes of Tim Sheens.

It's not school football fellas.........not everybody HAS to get a run.

DCE would've come in handy if either of those 3 come up injured at any stage of the match.....luckily for us he wasn't needed.

Agreed.

Evans was there in case of injury. Yes Lord Luke of Penrith can fill in there, was winging it there for a while.

Had we been more in front he would have got time. Was not required, so what.

This is a dumb arguement. DCE is a premiership winning halfback, not some kid with half a dozen first grade games to his name. If he's good enough to be picked for Australia then he deserves to get a run. It wouldn't have been his test debut and he didn't disappoint the last time he wore the green and gold.

Why pick him if they aren't going to use him. Felt sorry for him. Could have used Lewis as the utility, Gallen at lock and picked petero in the side... And Aussie Mick weyman instead of james Tamou!

The reason? (im in conspiracy mood today..) cuz wasnt there some talk about him being eligible for England?

Last time DCE played for Australia he was playing against Wales, not exactly the Heavyweights of the Rugby league world.
There was really no point in wasting a bench spot on a specialist halfback just in case of injury, essentially we pick a team of 16.

His time will come, like everyone else he will have to wait for the incumbents to vacant their position to get a crack...giving him a bench spot was a silly decision.

I agree, should have pulled Cronk off and given him a go.

It is called rotation.

I agree. Also as said earlier, it's not school yard stuff where everyone shares time off.
He's got a better idea now of what he needs to do to get on that field. It's not a waste of time by a long shot.

If it was Sheens selection - Dumb merkin.

If it was Fulton's selection - I understand why Sheen why Sheen's didn't play him.

Poor kid.

I don't think it was Sheen's selection. He would have wanted an old, used by, outside back on the bench like a Tuqiri or Luke Burt.
